OK... that's just a crazy number, right? They attribute a lot of it to product development and the new HUB cable channel. Still, you'd think that some of it might be due to the fact that the prices on the little plastic men we love to collect have gone through the roof in the last two years and we're not buying as many of them.

The article says Boys Toys is the only division that has held the line, while games, puzzles, and girls toys have floundered. The only link between the higher prices and Hasbro's decline is that Hasbro is trying to use their most popular brands - Star Wars and Transformers and other boys lines - to prop up their company's failures in EVERY OTHER DEPARTMENT. That is not a recipe for success. It is however an insult and a ripoff to die-hard collectors who keep getting told that Hasbro is struggling to meet costs with the SW line and then see articles saying that the boys toys lines are doing well, and that Star Wars had its best-selling year ever.
