View Full Version : SSG's Fans Choice Figure Poll 2011 - the culling!

JediTricks
09-02-2011, 04:31 PM
It's that time of decade again, time for Hasbro to let the fans decide what figure absolutely must be done. The last fans choice poll was back in 2009, and this one is somewhat similar: Hasbro is polling select fan sites to get a top 10 list of figures their readers want to see, then mashing all those sites' lists together to create a final top 20 poll on the Star Wars Insider website, with its final results to be announced at Toy Fair next February, and the figure will be released in time for ROTJ's 30th anniversary in 2013. Since we already have a fairly well-rounded list of characters from 2009, we'll start with them and move forward.

Thus, we enter... the culling!

Hasbro has given us a new stipulation: any characters selected from the current STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS animated series would be done in a realistic style. (that is the opposite from the last poll, so now TCW figures will be realistic.)

Although we haven't gotten word yet officially for this poll, we're going to keep the same limitations from the last poll. Here are the figures which were off-limits as per Lucasfilm demand, so we will not be including:

Tonnika Sisters (either)
any character based on George Lucas himself.
Grebleips (the ET senators)
Tyvokka
any live-action character from the Holiday Special

We believe everything else is fair game so long as it can fit on a basic The Vintage Collection figure card.

Please choose and rank your top 10 (ten) from any of these sources (write-ins are allowed):

Write-ins are allowed, and encouraged, and even added to the master list if you make sure to mark clearly that you are adding a new character to the poll. A few notes about adding new characters:

- For adding Padmé characters, it would be helpful to use the outfit names listed on http://www.rebelshaven.com/SWFFAQ/. Or try these:
http://www.padawansguide.com/amidala.shtml
http://www.padawansguide.com/padme.shtml
http://www.padawansguide.com/padme3.shtml

- On some characters it might be helpful to list the name first, such as Han Solo Bespin and Luke Jedi as opposed to Bespin Han Solo or Jedi Luke. That will make it a little easier for us to group the figures.

- Pictures or links might be useful on some more obscure background or EU figures. If we plug your vote into the Wookieepedia search field and can't find what you are referring to, or come across multiple possibilities, then we may not know what exactly you are voting for.

Quick questions: Tyvokka is off-limits, which I assume is due to the stupid "no Jedi Wookiees, despite what I allowed in the past" rule. I'm going to guess this affects Lowbacca as well, correct?

Also, what was the rule last time on live-action Holiday Special characters who appeared in other media? (I believe this would be Chewie's family, Ackmena, and, weirdly enough, Gormaanda.)

Seriously, as stupid as it sounds, I'd give my left you-know-what for a figure of Harvey Korman in drag as a four-armed alien who derives a bit too much pleasure from cooking. :)

Also, I see Jaxxon is not on the list despite usually performing well. Is he explicitly off-limits, or just not on your list? (He was blown off by Hasbro, but so was Jocasta Nu, and she's up there.) Same question regarding Ewok movie characters.

Sorry, but it's time for me to be annoying again and ask for some further culling. :p

*G8-R3 is coming in the Walmart exclusive Vintage wave next year.
*Palpatine from duel with Yoda was in the TVC ROTS wave.
*Pello Scrambas has more or less been made as the gray-haired TVC Rebel Fleet Trooper.
*Rebel Soldier Hoth Battle Gear is coming this year as Rebel Soldier (Echo Base Battle Gear).
*Leia Bespin Gown has been confirmed by Jeff for TVC at some point.
*Kithaba is in the delayed TVC wave (alongside Dr. Evazan, Aayla Secura, etc.).
*Warok was released in the Battle for Endor battle pack and named as such on the back of the box.
*A new Weequay (based on the vintage/POTF2 character) has been confirmed in the Q&A.

And do we need to base realistic Clone Wars selections off of those characters? They make more sense in the animated line, as they were originally asked for there (and Commander Fox, Tactical Droid, and Thi-Sen have all been made in the animated line).

I'm leaving Pello Scrambas on as he's a named character and the gray Rebel doesn't look anything like his facial features.

Leia Bespin Gown OR Escape was supposed to be slated for this year, but so far no sign has appeared, so I'm leaving it for now.

I took Warok off there originally, not sure why it's still there. Gone now.

IIRC, the characters are ok, but actors are not.
Not to be a jerk, but what do you mean by that? It's not like I'm asking for a Bea Arthur figure, just an Ackmena. :p Unless you say otherwise, I'm interpreting that as meaning none of the characters who are identifiable as the actors.

Which would mean no Ackmena or Krelman... but this still leaves Gormaanda in a bit of a grey area, as I doubt anyone would immediately identify her visually as being Harvey Korman.

I second both. Is there a particular reason why no Holiday Special figures aside from Lucas wanting to disawow anything to do with that? And can someone please remind me again why there's a ban on the Tonnika Sisters?

Anyways, here's my list:

1. Lt. Pello Scrambas - one of the first people we see in the entire SW film, and a welcome addition as squad leader to any Rebel Fleet Troop collection.

2. Arleil Schous - another original Cantina necessity

3. Admiral Piett - the original design is a good likeness of Ken Colley but with newer Imperial officers having better articulation and detail, so Piett should get the same.

4. Sim Aloo - one of the last unmade Vintage Kenner figures. Needs to be rectified.

5. Pellaeon - either as Captain from HTE or Grand Admiral

Shoutouts not in JediTricks' original list

6. Jaxxon - because

7. Carth Onasi

8. T3-M4

9. Dass Jennir - from Dark Horse's Dark Times line

10. Jan Ors - from either Dark Forces II or Jedi Outcast

And can someone please remind me again why there's a ban on the Tonnika Sisters?Licensing on all. Holiday Special, they didn't get the actors' likenesses. Tonnika Sisters, one of the actresses has Lucasfilm locked up in a lawsuit because she claims they didn't get her likeness rights and that the OTHER Tonnika isn't clearly *not her*.

[QUOTE]Hasbro has given us a new stipulation: any characters selected from the current STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS animated series would be done in a realistic style. (that is the opposite from the last poll, so now TCW figures will be realistic.)

Hoping that the re-release of all six movie in theaters in 3D will revive an interest in realistic looking figures rather than animated figures!

From this point forward, I'm going to list every character by movie and then by alphabetical order.

2. Klaatu Skiff (grey)
5. Vintage Nikto
6. Vintage Klaatu SkiffThis is really problematic. Some of these characters differ from what appears onscreen, some of them were just junk thrown together for a production photo, and because Kenner made them into figures, now we're considering them canon? There's not much difference between that and Walrusman or Hammerhead with their vastly inaccurate costumes on the figures.

It also throws into question whether the existing "Nikto Skiff" is being voted for. I could use your help, what do you think?

10. Cane Adiss (are we sure this can fit on a Vintage card?)Not "sure", but since NOBODY knows what he/they look like from the neck down, it might work.

1) Utai - short *write-in* (tooled but still unreleased)I don't remember that Utai being shorter than the other, they're both short. I'll just clarify it's the 2nd version that Hasbro prototyped.

2) Onaconda Farr *write-in* (Rodian Senator from AOTC/CW)You can't vote for both iterations in 1 vote, either it's the AOTC costume or the CW per vote, but I'm pretty sure they're different costumes. I'll count it as AOTC for now (you can use 2 votes to vote for each costume if you want).

3) Yoda *write-in* (ESB - modern update to finally top the 1980 vintage figure)I'm not sure what you're asking for here. I'll put him on the list, but just "Yoda (ESB)".

4) Shasa Tiel (or Harc Seff *write-in* - both are Ishi Tibs from Jabba's Palace)What is this? There's no "or" in voting. Either you're voting for the existing Shasa Tiel or you're voting for someone else. Until you say otherwise, I'll assume the former.

9) Vintage Nikto (*write-in*? - not on list, but already voted for)Counted.

2 kitster & waldDue to Hasbro's recent change of policy regarding 2-packs as seen with recent Ewoks, I'm not going to count votes for these 2 as a single pack in this round. Because of that, I'm going to count your vote for Kitster until you let me know how to post your votes otherwise.

10. Nikto Skiff (assuming that's the character released in the original line)At the moment it isn't since there are multiple Nikto confusions, so I'll count your vote for the one I've just added that reads "Nikto (seen on Kenner card photo)".

4. Mara Jade Skywalker: Jedi Master (I'm assuming this means the green robes)I honestly don't know, I didn't create the '09 list, I only copied it from MSP's fine work. I would think you're right though.

8. Nelvaan Mutant (http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/6/62/Battle_of_Nelvaan2.JPG) (write-in... again, pushing it but should be okay)I don't think so, look at the size difference between Anakin and that thing, that's more than the Wampa and Luke. I'll move the rest of your votes up until you tell me otherwise.

I included eleven just in case the "no actors" rule applies to the Ewok movies as well and Noa has to be stricken.I believe it only applies to the Holiday Special because that was the only SW thing produced outside of Lucas' purview, while the Ewok films were directly his products. That said, because I'm not counting your Nelvaan Mutant, 11 votes was a smart choice.

These are all write-in's. Hope that's okay!

1. Mungo Baobab (http://www.droidsandewoks.com/mungo-baobab-bio.html)
2. Princess Kneesaa (http://www.droidsandewoks.com/princess-kneesaa-bio.html)

9. Morag (http://www.droidsandewoks.com/tulgah.html)
10. Jann Tosh (http://www.droidsandewoks.com/jann-tosh-bio.html)That's fine, but keep in mind that they'll likely all be rendered in realistic form should they win.

3. Kitster and Wald

I included Kitster and Wald as a two-pack. The 2009 fans' choice results did, so I assume Hasbro thinks that's okay (and I've heard Derryl say that, were they to be released, he would be adamant about them coming in a two-pack). In '09, Hasbro Star Wars planned to release Wicket with Princess Kneesaa. By '10, the budget constraints had made little figure 2-packs impossible. Thus, at this time, I am not counting Kitster & Wald as a 2-pack unless I hear otherwise. I have asked Hasbro for clarification on several matters, including this, but am assuming it'll be single packs only.

I am counting your vote for just Kitster right now, please let me know how to change your votes should that not prove satisfactory.

5. Padmé ROTS Green Cut Velvet Robe (Write-in)How is this different from the existing "Padmé Green Gown"? I don't know of a second green outfit she wears in ROTS, cut-scene or not. LMK, until then, I'll include your vote for that existing one.

As of this posting, 97 separate characters have been voted for out of the 205 characters currently offered in the poll. In the current top 10 you'll find at least 1 character from every section... except The Clone Wars, whose highest showing so far is #37.

Any chance you can leave #11 off and just replace the Nelvaan Mutant with a plain old Nelvaan Warrior (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Nelvaanian)? (I just really want one of these guys in some form, especially since the Nelvaan Anakin Skywalker from a couple of years back is pretty useless with absolutely no one else to hang out with him.)

I'm well aware of this, but Derryl did mention this about Kitster and Wald after the Wicket/Kneesaa issue (or at the same time; I believe it was at CV). For now, I'll keep my votes as they are, until we hear back from Hasbro for clarification.

They're the same. I guess I just didn't notice the choice on the list at the time. I was also modifying my 2009 votes and it was listed as a write-in there. But, yeah, the costumes are the same.

This is really problematic. Some of these characters differ from what appears onscreen, some of them were just junk thrown together for a production photo, and because Kenner made them into figures, now we're considering them canon? There's not much difference between that and Walrusman or Hammerhead with their vastly inaccurate costumes on the figures.

All three of those guys did appear in the film and all three have a vintage counterpart (just not necessarily a Kenner action figure):
Klaatu Skiff (grey) (http://www.skiffguards.com/green-nikto.html)

Vintage Nikto (http://www.skiffguards.com/red-nikto.html)

Vintage Klaatu Skiff (http://www.skiffguards.com/yotts-oren.html)

Vintage Klaatu Skiff (http://www.skiffguards.com/yotts-oren.html)Ok, I'm totally confused. Klaatu Skiff (grey) is "Green" on the site (and then he's a Nikto). Isn't that YOUR site? :p Also, screw Decipher for confusing this even worse!!! And why not use the "Yotts Oren" name for the Vintage Klaatu Skiff? Again, it's on YOUR SITE! :D Right now I'd like to bludgeon whomever made Klaatus and Niktos the same f'ing race and made Barada into a "Klatoonian", that was incredibly stupid of LFL to allow. I'll make a few changes, they were already in the poll, but I'm utterly sick to death of this garbage, these throw-away characters that Lucas couldn't have been bothered to give 2 squirts about enough to make a coherent showing in the movie (I am not faulting Marquand, it was never really his baby) because it was cheaper to simply make rubber masks and hands and then random costume elements. Where is the blue stuff on Yotts Oren? It only shows up on the Vintage cardback photo and the figure itself, despite it likely being a mis-chroma'ed image. And by process of elimination, I was right, the existing "Nikto Skiff" listing was already your Vintage Nikto, so you had me putting up a second one for no reason.

Here's what you guys get now:

Klaatu Skiff green/gray (unnamed, the only "Klaatu" actually on a skiff, never made into a figure by Kenner)
Nikto Skiff (unnamed, Kenner's original "Nikto")
Yotts Oren (aka Kenner's "Klaatu in Skiff Guard outfit")

And if you don't like it, call George Lucas and tell him to go back in time and fix his sloppy work. That, or explain CLEARLY why it should be changed yet again.

I hate the whole Klaatu/Green Nikto and Barada/Klatooinian thing as much as you do. It's almost like the EU writers just wrote up some names and backstories, dropped them into a hat and each alien was assigned an identity and backstory completely at random. Either that or whoever wrote the backstory for Barada thought that he was actually writing the backstory for Wooof (the vintage "Klaatu") and that just threw everything else into chaos. I would love for it to go back to just being Klaatus, Baradas, and Niktos.

I entered the names on my list in the same way that I entered them in the RS poll. A few of the admin there are almost as big of Skiff Guard fans as I am, so they picked up on what I was talking about right away. I can understand that if you actually have a life and haven't spent hours upon hours trying to sort out that scene, then it might be a little confusing.

Phantom Menace Queen Amidala Battle of Naboo in her maroon outfit, :concern: preferably with an ascension gun. This figure was very hard to find back in the day, and even though maybe not as popular as all the other salt shaker queens, could use an update, or is she slated for release in 2012 already?

It's cool that Clone Wars figures can be voted as realistic now. I remember the confusing conundrum of this subject before.
I'll compile my list and vote shortly.

Queen Amidala "Battle" outfit would be a write in of mine (if not already slated for release, or if this is only new figures, nevermind)

Mantellian Savrip (from the Dejarik game)
Kintan Strider (from the Dejarik game)
Do you want these as the non-holographic beings from the SW universe, or as holographic Dejarik pieces that are merely action figure sized?

Ziro the HuttCurrently, we are not accepting votes for larger creature-sized figures while we await Hasbro's final word on the matter. I will move your votes up 1 slot and you can LMK if and how you'd like to change that.

TeeboI will count your vote for this, but we have a fairly modern Teebo figure from POTJ, so it'd help if you could explain what you'd like done differently for a new Teebo.

DianogaSame as Ziro, right now we're not accepting votes for those larger creatures. If Hasbro somehow changes their tune, I will surely give you those votes though.

Queen Amidala "Battle" outfit would be a write in of mine (if not already slated for release, or if this is only new figures, nevermind)
http://www.rebelscum.com/episodeIamidalabattle.aspI will add your figure to the list. I don't know of a planned re-release for that version. Our list isn't only new figures, redos are a necessity to keep this line going, really.

BTW, that version of Padme had 2 figures in that line, but the version you refer to was superior and very hard to get
(although it also had that annoying frankenstein monster bolt hinge pin in her neck :p).

Beru LarsIs that for the existing ROTS figure, or a write-in for Aunt Beru (ANH)? I'll assume ROTS for now, but you can correct that at your leisure.

Jorus C'baothI hate to have to ask this, but you mean the clone, Joruus C'baoth, right? Not the original version, Jorus? Again, I'll assume the existing entry for the mad cloned Jedi (based on your lack of "write in" which you used elsewhere), but you can correct that.

Arc Trooper Lieutenant Muunilinst / Hypori corrected colorsI'm afraid I'm confused by this entry. This is a correction to the regular blue ARC Trooper Lieutenant figure to match the one from the Muunilinst 10? http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/The_Muunilinst_10
So basically, the new ARC Trooper Lieutenant (Fordo) figure, but in blue, and with a new pauldron that doesn't include the ammo pouches? I'll put it up under that assumption.

I signed up just to vote in the poll. Hopefully I'll be around longer. :)Right on, and welcome aboard.

4) Darth Kryat (Legacy WAR Armor)I am confused, how is that different from the existing Darth Krayt figure from the Comic Pack with Sigel Dare? I'll leave this slot open on your votes until it gets cleared up.

8) Ziro The HuttRight now, we're not accepting votes for figures that are larger than basic-sized while we await hasbro's final word on the matter. I will bump up your votes for now, and you can change your votes at any time to match. Should Hasbro change their tune on those bigger figures, I will count that vote for Ziro.

9) Quinlan Vos (Jedi Robes)I'll add this, but want to make sure you know that 1st quarter 2012 we're getting an Ep 1 Vos figure: http://photos.sirstevesguide.com/panel/p39658-star-wars.html (I know it's different, just wanted to make sure fans knew)

My vote:

Also, there's a possibility that Hasbro won't allow TOR votes, I've asked them. For now, I'll assume they will as long as they're based on existing materials known to the public, but keep in mind they may not.

2. Canderous Ordo [Mandalore’s Armor] (write-in)

I will add your figure to the list.

Is that for the existing ROTS figure, or a write-in for Aunt Beru (ANH)? I'll assume ROTS for now, but you can correct that at your leisure.

I hate to have to ask this, but you mean the clone, Joruus C'baoth, right? Not the original version, Jorus? Again, I'll assume the existing entry for the mad cloned Jedi (based on your lack of "write in" which you used elsewhere), but you can correct that.

I'm afraid I'm confused by this entry.

Yeah Amidala Battle needs an update as an "action figure" Instead of a salt shaker Amidala, I'd rather see her, thanks.
Correct, Beru Lars in ROTS, and that's the mad clone C'baoth in the Zahn novels.

Pretty much correct on the Arc Trooper but a tweaked one. A corrected Arc Trooper to match the Muunilinst 10. Not a grey one, not a blue-green one, not one with stripes on his boots, but one that matches the cartoon and the same blue as the Heavy Gunner (in the same Hypori scene) we got a while back on the white card. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Advanced_Recon_Commando_heavy_gunner
(http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Advanced_Recon_Commando_heavy_gunner)I'd actually prefer one that's like the original Fordo only in corrected blue, as the new "improved" TVC one is kinda wonky with the removable helmet and soft goods, but water under the bridge.

I would assume the same type of blue on the Arc Pilot too, then we would finally have a set of Muunilinst 10 that actually match each other for our Rancor Gunship. Phase one helmets of course.

Were Jorus and Joruus visually different at all? Aside from a force lightning accessory, I can think of no real difference in the possible figures.

(Though it would be kinda cool if he won the poll and the same figure was released with a "Fan's Choice" sticker on two different cards, one for Jorus and one for Joruus.)

I will count your vote for this, but we have a fairly modern Teebo figure from POTJ, so it'd help if you could explain what you'd like done differently for a new Teebo.

The POTJ Teebo was large for an Ewok even in 2002, so he's ginormous compared to the recent correctly-scaled Ewoks we've been getting, plus he lacks the articulation that has become standard on those tiny figures.

Okay, I was unaware of this until someone pointed it out to me on RS, but it looks like there has been some retconning going on with the Klaatus in ROTJ.

It looks like the grey/green suited Klaatu from the second skiff is actually now named Yotts Oren. Originally, Yotts Oren was the name for the vintage white/tan suited Klaatu Skiff Guard figure (who was also resculpted as part of the POTF2 Skiff Guards 3-pack in 1999). That guy is now back to being Klaatu, while the vintage Klaatu figure has been officially renamed Wooof for quite some time now. This name switch with Yotts Oren and the grey Klaatu happened recently... very recently.... like two months ago.

So I guess now it goes:

Klaatu Skiff green/gray (unnamed, the only "Klaatu" actually on a skiff, never made into a figure by Kenner) --> Yotts Oren

Yotts Oren (aka Kenner's "Klaatu in Skiff Guard outfit") --> Klaatu (which I guess is his proper name now)

Now I wish I had the job of just randomly rewriting obscure background alien identities in the Star Wars films.

That's very interesting about those aliens. The Facebook post where Leland Chee mentioned the retcon also includes his wish to name the vintage Nikto Lathe; that name was used on a trading card with a picture of Nysad (also known as the 2009 Nikto Gunner figure).

Phase one helmets of course.Yeah, that's almost exactly what I thought, so I think the description will fit. They don't seem to want us to design the figures, so we have to push our intent in subtle ways and hope for the best. As for the helmet and color, they'll do what they'll do. I just got the new Fordo ARC Trooper last night and I really like it, especially the soft goods, but they'll have to figure it out themselves, especially since they're retiring the old, clunky, marshmallowy phase 1 body.

I suggest you make that kind of argument in Q&A rather than here if it doesn't win, that way we can tell them exactly what is important to achieve the figure and why.

(Though it would be kinda cool if he won the poll and the same figure was released with a "Fan's Choice" sticker on two different cards, one for Jorus and one for Joruus.)Yeah, they were different. Jorus didn't have the madman hairstyle (and beardstyle), wasn't emaciated, and had a totally different outfit that symbolized what a different character he was from the original. Compare the images (I use them not as specific examples, but as visual expressions of the different concepts):
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Joruus_C%27baoth
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jorus_C%27baoth

I just got Logray last night, and for $10, I feel TOTALLY like they didn't deliver on the value, the face sculpt isn't up to snuff and the paint isn't even accurate on the face, so I'm not thrilled to get more Ewoks in this rather underwhelming scenario.

Thanks.
6) Cad Bane (The Clone Wars)Oh dear, that's bad for me, someone had already voted for him and he's not on our list, only in my voting tally. I'll add.

9) Commander Stone (AOTC)I'm confused on this one, Cmdr Stone wasn't in AOTC. I'll put under CW for now because it'll be realized realistically in AOTC-style armor anyway, but if there's something I'm missing, LMK.

A few stats...

After a week, 28 of you have voted. There are 161 characters voted for out of the 242 choices currently listed.

ANH no longer appears in the top 10 results, the closest being #17. The EU currently leads the way with 3 characters, followed by AOTC and ROTJ with 2 each, then ROTS, TPM, and ESB each with 1. The Clone Wars has gained slightly, but still its highest-ranked character thus far is #29.

Of any character gaining more than 4 votes, Nute Gunray (ROTS) has the highest average, which means those voters for Nute may currently not be as many in number as some other options, but those voters are more passionate for Nute. The next closest in that regard is Jocasta Nu, although her voters are on average a whole point lower in interest. Who knew that Jocasta Nu fans weren't as passionate about their favored character as Nute Gunray fans? And just 1 person so far has voted for both Nute ROTS and Jocasta Nu.

Don't forget to vote and make your voice heard before the poll ends on September 27th.

Chee (Keeper of the Holocron (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Keeper-of-the-Holocron/201820953172172)) stated:

We changed the IDs around since I posted that blog:
Wooof = vintage Klaatu
Klaatu = vintage Klaatu (skiff guard)
Yotts Orren = name is reserved for a previously unnamed Green Nikto seen on Jabba's sail barge, wearing a gray shirt, a dark gray hood, and crossed bandoliers

He never explains what prompted the rewrite; but I just got done updating my SkiffGuards site with this new information. Which wasn't easy since I never anticipated having two characters just arbitrarily switch identities. So if he changes it back, THEN I will want to punch him in the face.

So if he changes it back, THEN I will want to punch him in the face. :mad:Ugh, what an incredibly arbitrary mess - IMO, Chee needs to justify a significant change like that with some existing material, solid reasons why Bob Smith is now Katherine DeMarque, if you catch my drift. I want to break into Chee's house and change all his locks, put the new keys on a keyring with 1,000 keys on it, and every lock and key is a different brand. Oh, and then throw some of the keys and locks and pins from the new locks on the floor.

How am I supposed to explain this to the voters now?!?
- The Nikto that used to be Klaatu and then was some other guy and was a figurine from another company but not Kenner and if you blink you miss him

Actually, it's even worse than that, here's what I have to use (with italics because they wrap down they're so long):
- Klaatu "in skiff guard outfit" from Kenner vintage line (until 7-5-11 was known as Yotts Oren, now LFL says name is "Klaatu", never actually appears on a skiff but is on sail barge)
- Klaatu green/gray outfit w/ crossed bandoliers (never made previously, used to be nameless, after 7-5-11 named "Yotts Oren", the only Klaatu who appears on a skiff)

These are supposed to be CHARACTER NAMES!!! If I have to take a whole paragraph to say Klaatu or Yotts Oren, something is TERRIBLY WRONG!!!

Crap, I just realized the stupid "Lathe" situation means I have to change Nikto's listing too.

And since I don't use Facebook, half this information is unavailable to me behind the login gate despite being something all fans are supposed to know!

Leland Chee owes every single fan an explanation, and me he owes an apology for wrecking my poll and adding more troubles to my already ****ty September. I can't even use their proper race's name because of how stupidly confusing the situation there is to begin with! "Klaatu is a Nikto. Barada is a Klatoonian. Nikto will be named Lathe eventually. Nikto is a Nikto despite having NO PHYSICAL SIMIARITIES IN COMMON WITH KLAATU." Shame on Chee for changing their names again, and shame on LFL for creating these sorts of problems in the first place.

Could i change my #9 by KAINK . I read somewhere in a QnA that Lumat is confirmed in a near future.I will do that, but Hasbro's answer on July 22nd, the last I know about, wasn't a solid confirmation the way it's presented, more like 90% confirmed IMO...

I'm thinking that if Jocasta Nu falls significantly in the rankings of this poll (I'm talking about the final results from the poll that will run in Star Wars Insider), then Hasbro will use that as an excuse to never make an action figure of her. They already pretty much claimed that her #2 ranking in the last Fan's Choice Poll was a fluke. I'm not that worried about it, since I would never buy the figure, but it is interesting that all those Jocasta Nu fans who magically appeared in time for the last Fan's Choice Poll are nowhere to be seen now.

"Please choose and rank your top 10," so yes, the order is very important. The top of the list gets 10 points while the bottom of the list gets 1 point. We have to submit a ranked top 10 list ourselves to Hasbro, if every vote were just 1 point per character, right now our list would have 7 tied places out of 10 slots, which is essentially useless.

PLEASE DESIGNATE WHEN YOU ARE INCLUDING A WRITE-IN TO ENSURE IT GETS DEALT WITH PROPERLY.

I do not understand why this has become such an incredibly difficult thing for so many of the voters to grasp, it's SO easy. I can only assume it's monkey-see, monkey-do.

Considering how many way-out-there names I've had to deal with, characters nobody but 1 person has heard of, it's pretty good that we've had so few mistakes.

I don't want to seem like I'm attacking anyone for the figures they want (because I'm not and, hey, my most-wanted is an 8-foot green bunny, so I have no room to talk), but I don't see the appeal of putting a major pegwarmer in a new hat.

Was up JT, was just being specific with Darth Krayt, but he has been reawaken a few times. When he became a warlord for the Tuskens after being attacked from his clone troopers, then as Darth Krayt after being tortured by the Vong he saw the vision of a new Sith, then after being slain by Darth Wrrylok the official resurrecting of Darth Krayt who now had a better vision for his "One Sith". Really don't know if he really died on that occasion, his been in stasis for Hundred and Fifty years as a human he should have been dead a long time ago. Just from a certain point of view. LOL

Have a nice weekend JT. Thank you for your vigilance on this forum.

First I've heard of it. I'm not always the first to know (to understate it just a wee bit), and would welcome this figure (he was in serious contention for my top ten), but where did you get the info from?

Initially, I read it during one of the Q&As on Rebelscum a while back, but I did find this:
http://www.imperialholocron.com/news/news-04-2010.html

Scroll down to Jedi Temple War Room for this quote:

"Hasbro confirmed that they are working on Barriss Offee for Spring 2011 and that Cin Drallig was originally slated for a 2011 release but has been bumped till at least 2012."

I know the poll is for the new fan's choice figure, so it would be a stand alone figure in the legacy line. However, I think they could find ways to sneak Nute into circulation without having him warm pegs. I always thought an "Assassination of Mustafar" set combined with battle droids and Anakin/Vader would work well enough.

I think at this point in the line, there is room for both Jaxxon and Nute, Hasbro just needs to be concious of how they are released and how many they ship.

If Jaxxon appeared in the Clone Wars, he could probably sell reasonably well. He is old enough to appear in the series.

He actually appears on a "wanted" poster in a tie-in online comic, so he's around and presumably already working as a bounty hunter. Best thing about him, even if they made him in cartoony style should he show up in the series, the same figure would work nicely for the other line.

It's a RANKED list.

Sorry JT, missed the part where it was ranked. I only changed 1,2,3, and 8.

1. Pellaeon
2. Mara Jade Skywalker
3. Anakin Solo
4. Admiral Daala
5. Leebo

Since it's not a confirmation yet (I've read several answers, none of them newer than April 27th, 2010), it could be a canceled figure, and thus I'll leave it on the poll.

That's the end of our poll. A big thanks to everybody who participated!

The votes are tallied, and the results are in. Out of 201 characters voted for, SSG's top 10 is as follows:

Cliegg Lars

Sim Aloo
Jocasta Nu
Toryn Farr
Nute Gunray (ROTS)
Guri
Tey How
Noghri
Captain / Admiral Piett
Cane Adiss

Mercifully, there were no ties in our top 10.

From here, Hasbro will take our results and pool them with the results from other sites to create a final poll of 20 choices on the SW Insider's website. We will keep you up to date on this Fans Choice voting.

To see how all 201 characters fared in the poll and discuss those results with others, visit our poll results discussion thread (http://www.sirstevesguide.com/showthread.php/44754-Discuss-the-SSG-2011-Fans-Choice-Poll-results-here-now!).

Don't be surprised if not everybody agrees with you, that's what makes it exciting!
