No sound, but honestly, it's just fun to watch anyway.

I don't generally love Anime, but this looks great and creates its own personality for Star Wars so different from the current animation out there, so if this were a regular show or an OVA, I'd totally watch it. The use of movement and setup really feels like a bold Star Wars expression. It's very impressive, and I'm glad to see fan passion out there deliver something so amazing - were I to have access to Lucas, I'd convince him to spearhead an OVA series out of this right away. It feels like the right time for it, we haven't had X-wing vs. TIE in a while, we haven't had a truly serious animated expression for Star Wars, and anime hasn't been doing much in the US lately, so a SW anime would just be so right.

The creator of this piece, OtaKing77077, has pulled his work as it's gotten too much attention and he didn't want it released yet since it's still a work in progress. A lot of reposts of it have been done, but since this guy actually asked permission and added SW sound effects, I'll give him the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tBM2ZfncoU

And I can't say it enough, this guy's art - more than the actual physical artwork, but the vision behind it too - is a great shot in the arm for SW, and Lucasfilm should approach him to do do more.

I absolutely agree. As a fan of 80s anime (80s period, I suppose) and SW, this was spectacular and done seemingly on the cheap and on his own. This iteration of SW should be embraced by The Maker and its now retro feel might be a wise next step in the animated franchise. It would kill me if Lucas went with an Animatrix approach and had a bunch of disjointed anime-ators of the moment make loosely related shorts. A full on series that looked this would be well received and very toy-able. Lucas just needs the courage to go back to 2D animation in an increasingly 3D animation world.
