My first Star Wars figure was the original Luke Skywalker waaay back in 1978. I did not see the movie until October of '77, and I spent most of my time and money collecting the Topps cards. Mom and dad got me a Luke for Easter in '78. It was my number one dime, so to speak. There's an oddball reference for you.

My first was actually a playset. It wasn't the ROTJ Ewok Village for the Kenner line, but it was an Ewok village, shaped like a tree, with an elevator between both the top and bottom. I think the village is in my parent's attic, but I have the Ewok figures. They're single-posed, with a large hole in the middle of their feet. They're copyrighted LFL 1984, so I would have been three when I got the set.

I have no idea what it is, exacly, all I know is that I loved playing with it.

My first figures were vintage Obi-Wan, Chewie and Pilot Luke because my Mom had'em although my first NEW figures were a vintage MOMC ESB Yoda...which we found at a comic shop after I got completely hooked on SW and I ripped open, and my first POTF2 figures were R2 and 2 Stormtroopers.

The original Stormtrooper. He is the only vintage figure that survived my childhood and still has his weapon.

This has been covered many a time before, but now that I think about it, I may have told a lie. I now believe I got the Land of the Jawas playset the summer before I got cloth cape Jawa. Imagine, no figures for an action figure playset. Good thing I packed my imagination! Either way, my first figure was received (Jawa)Christmas '78. Oldest figure I still own was my second one, Greedo. So loose he can't stand up at all.

p.s. And if any of you make "loose" jokes about him, you're sick! :frus: ;)

I just KNEW Greedo was the Mos Eisley equivalent of a "lot lizard" :crazed:

I can't remember my first figure, but one of my earliest memories is of using a TIE pilot as Darth Vader since I did not yet have the Dark Lord. Hey, at least the color of his suit matched . . . mostly. :)

I have no idea what it is, exacly, all I know is that I loved playing with it. According to Thrawn, it's the "Ewok Family Hut", a remodeled toy from a totally non-SW toddler line. Here's an ebay auction for one of those Ewok sets: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1715944595
there are 2 on ebay right now but NONE in the closed-auctions section.

I got the electronic X-wing and all the core characters from my Grandma in one delivery when I was really young, it was awesome. I destroyed that poor X-wing by landing it in my turtle tank over and over to simulate the crash landing on Dagobah. Poor turtle. :stupid:

Family tree house from playskool or palitoy or someone was a cool toy with a little car and that same cool elevator. I remember playing with one with a neighbours nipper. Wish it had been one of those ewok huts though. Much better.

I have a hard time remembering exactly which figure was my first. I think I've stated before that it was a stormtrooper but now I think about it again I'm not so sure. I think it was probably a vintage Threepio or Artoo. Maybe my brother got the Stormie. I know I had a vader very early on. I hated it with a passion and snapped his head off quite swiftly. My friend across the street had the Imperial troop transport and an X-wing so I guess that's where my vader came into it. Shot down by an X-wing and lost his head.... :) But I think it was probably a threepio first. Something about shiney toys attracted me when I was a kid. I reckon the chroming would have attracted my attention over the coolness of the walrus man or greedo or hammerhead. What the heck - let's just say it was one of the early vintage figures and be done with it. :D

Were the Vintage Threepio and Artoo. I remember there still being plenty of snow on the ground then. It was back in the mid-winter of 1978. I bought them at Kiddie City. HUGE toy store. I remember a massive display devoted to STAR WARS. It was just on the otherside of the peg wall devoted to party favours and whatnot. It was almost right when you walked into the place.

$1.79 USD, buddy... those were the days! Loved the droids then and love them still!

BLUEBIRD Family tree house. There - I knew it'd come to me eventually. That's what the ewok one was based on.

The company was BLUEBIRD. Cool toys...... *sighs wistfully....*

Vintage stormtrooper and C-3p0 from K-mart when the vintage figures first came out in '78. My wonderful Mom got them for me and still to this day after all these years and being an adult now(??? I think) my Mom STILL supports my habit!

Oh, I remember my first fondly. It was a cool summer day. I was driving down the road when I spotted this girl on . . . . . . . . . OH, not THAT kind of first:eek:. Ok, my first figure was a vintage Lando Calrission In Skiff Guard Disguise! It was after my dad and I saw ROTJ. We went over to TRU (that was when the store was awesome and huge!!!!) and he let me pick out any fig I wanted. I remember thinking how "cool" it was that Billy Dee Williams disguised himself with a differance costume and a hat! So I got him. Plus I think it was the only one down where I could reach :D

Isn't there a thread just like this in the warehouse somewhere?

Anyway, I remember walking into K-Mart and seeing a display near the front doors of figures. Of course I wanted one. My mom said, "He looks cute," so I went home with R2-D2.
