View Full Version : POTJ IG-88 question

This has probably been addressed before but I recently busted open a POTJ IG-88 to display and was dismayded at his leg lengths. One leg is clearly longer than the other! Was this common or did I just buy the only dud IG-88 on the East Coast?

Oh by the way it was a 3 3/4 size figure, not the 12 inch. Sorry.

I opened my IG-88 as well... and he seems fine to me - He stands pretty straight all on his own.

Maybe yours is the rare IG that requires a correction shoe.

one of my legs was smaller too, nothing to much though.
it still stands up fine.

The original release had one leg shorter and two open hands. The second release had one hand sealed shut (I think so it could hold the Imperial blaster pistol that comes with Bespin Leia better) and the legs are closer to the same length but not perfect. But I think IG-88 leans very slightly in the movie, so I don't mind. :D

My IG-88 also had the long/short leg thing too, and mine was the open hand version, guess I'll compare my carded closed hand to my carded open hand and check it out.

How does it compare to the original SOTE 2-pack IG-88???, or even the ORIGINAL ESB IG-88???

POTJ IG-88 to SOTE 2-pack IG-88, definitely much better! The POTJ IG-88 even has a joint in it's head so two parts of it's head can move independently. I dunno what it looks like compared to the Vintage IG-88, but I'm sure it's better.

Sounds cool.....

but from what I hear, the SOTE one is slightly taller.....is this true?

I'm not big on resculpts, and I'd much rather have another POTJ figure, over IG88, since I've got one modern version.....

but, it's kinda a double edged sword, as it's obvious that the rereleased characters, and costumes get better with each successive wave......

Mine stands pretty good so far.

The POTJ version also has a removable bandolier, which is really nice.

Mine has both legs the same and stands ok. I like the removable bandolier to.

El Chuxter - that was a pretty cool piece of news that I don't know about. Thanks for the info. Now to check my IG is a newer release or the initial ones.
