Yeah- not to hijack this but his death was a COMPLETE shock- my Aunt got home from Sunday shopping and there was a succession on answering machine messages going from "we're taking him to the hospital" and ending with "Sorry but he is no longer among the living". The guy was in overall perfect shape and what happened couldn't have been predicted or prevented- the proverbial "bolt from the blue"

Your post is giving me flashbacks. The scenario (except for the hockey thing: the messages; phone calls) is pretty much the same when I lost my mom. Completely unexpected. Heart attack. That's all folks. Lost my dad five months later. Kind of a repeat there, too. Orphaned at 36!

OK time to look for the Golden Deuce vid!

It will be a little bit, gotta retrieve it then add titles and fades and whatnot, then re-encode it- I will be ON the case the second the DL is finished \m/

I don't think there's ever been a sloppier acceptance speech

In the meantime, I see Slick needs to apply to be the US ambassador to Mexico! :D

do they have youtube in Mexico??

That might be an obstacle...

Oyes, a classic- such a good speech Slick didn't even remember saying it- I LOVE how he flat-out denies being a little tipsy :D

A Johnny V reminded me of an HILARIOUS bit from later in the night- once Sliki got his wolf shirt on he couldn't stop bouncing around doing his wolf cries- Johnny was pretty sure he was posessed by the wolf- the proof came when Sliki sat down and said some mumbo-jumbo about the way things were and how he was cool with it then finished the thought with this weird quiet "roww roww roooo", a thoughtful echo of the wolf cry

:beard: Iso&Baws
The boys should remember that

Oyes. Thank goodness for John's relatively level head or else that gem would've gone forgotten. Holy carp that was hilarious.

Was a Warren Zevon tune playing in the background during all of that?

You know I don't remember- I know we had a hockey game on the radio for a while (the hot pepper attack features a goal being scored in the background) but beyond that I just don't remember what got played- I don't have any Warren Zevon tho so it wasn't on the radio, tho it would have been appropriate to be sure, I can hear it over the mental replay

It was the Sabres game. Damned if I can remember who they were playing though.

For the record, Sliki and I were hanging out last night and he broke out the Wolf Shirt. Needless to say, several teepees were found in the front yard this morning.

This is all very cryptic. I guess what happens in the MabuDome, stays in the MabuDome.

The Wolf Shirt will come out eventually. But right now Sliki is a bit faded after the t*tty bar so he may post later...

You went to a t*tty bar, Slick? Did they have girls there, too? Or were they just serving from Jeffrey Dahmer's collection?

I can't answer as to wolf shirts, however......

I'll have to somehow incorporate the Deuce and something like this into the next batch of shirts for the next rendezvous at the MabuDome:

I think the multitude of SW events (often inexpensive to attend) around the country have made this dream meeting moot and useless. Kidding...

All the more reason to us to find some place in the middle of the country for us to all meet up some weekend and booze it up!.....I mean talk Star Wars goodness.

My apartment? Middle of the Country, more bars per square foot of any town/city in America, in a few weeks young college girls, plenty of hotels and convention centers, 4 casinos within 60 minutes or less...And that other Star ___ franchise's captain will be born 15 minutes away in a couple hundred years. And since the floods, desperate need of influx of dollars from things like sales and hotel taxes.

Ahh yes, the Dome is actually rocking pretty hard now, the basement has been turned into a jam-space so we can freak out on friday nights.
No mabu-plans in the works yet but one never knows eh?

I have reserved a room in Orlando for Celebration 5.

I'm about to check if there is a thread for those planning to attend there.

The get-together for SSG at C3 in Indianappolis was a lot of fun indeed!

I was thinking about organizing a panel on Mouse Droid Sniffing.

I was thinking about the items I'd need:

a lovely assistant, closely resembling Kristin Bell in a Slave Leia outfit
a large box full of individually bagged 3 3/4" scale Mouse Droids
the pull-back Mouse Droid from the Death Star Deluxe Accessory Set (2002)
a tray tub full of clean, freshly steamed, wet white towels
as many vaporizers (filled) and some table salt as there are electrical cords so they all might be plugged in to really steam the room - with all doors closed.
perhaps power blocks so we can add more steam vaporizers
MOMC Death Star Droid with Mouse Droids
MOMC R4M9s with Mouse Droids (POTJ 2001) that can be opened
12" Death Star Droid with Mouse Droid (MIMB, possibly available for opening)
12" KB Toys Exclusive Han and Luke Stormtrooper with Mouse Droid (this MIMB product need not be opened because of its rarity)
a microphone
2 to 4 speaker amplifiers
a videographer with camera
a laptop with live internet connection
a printed, pre-designed petition form for Hasbro to release the Mouse Droid on its own vintage cardback with a sample
a mock-up of a Hasbro Mouse Droid 5 pack
one "Hannibal Lechter inspired" head harness that suspends one Mouse Droid over each nostril
a design schematic for a Hasbro Star Wars Transformer that changes from a Mouse Droid Alt Mode to a Super Mouse Droid automaton
a professional wardrobe for the occasion
a Star Wars ball cap
a Star Wars T-shirt
a Mouse Droid Sniffers' Association T-shirt
video footage from Star Wars ANH edited to catch Sir Alec Guiness, Harrison Ford, Peter Mehew, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill all sniffing Mouse Droids*

* I would like to definitely edit the following ANH footage:

Han Solo, screaming and running through the Death Star corridors and arriving around a corner to find a huge pile of Mouse Droids. Then footage added so that the motion picture character is actually carrying a Mouse Droid with him during a few later moments in the film.

Obi-Wan Kenobi edited so that his empty robe that falls on the Death Star's deck actually still has his head sticking out of it, so he appears to be kneeling with his face planted in a Mouse Droid.

When Luke Skywalker is being shot at by the Stormtroopers above him, and he hands his blaster to Leia, "Here hold this," I'd like Luke to then come up with a Mouse Droid in his hands.

With video editing technology these days, and Star Wars on DVD, this can be done!

I would like to submit these videos as rare exclusive cut scenes from 1977.

I have put serious and detailed thought into this program.
