View Full Version : Would you be interested in a 12" forum section?
JediTricks

Here's the question, would you be interested in reading and participating in a forum section dedicated only to Action Collection/Collectors Series/12"-scale Star Wars figures from all the modern era? If enough people are interested, we can have one, but if there's not enough interest, it'll not happen. It's up to you folks, so let us know...

I'd support it. With a lot of current topics focused solely on basic figures, a forum for those collectors to share their comments, suggestions, and customizations on 12 inch collecting would be nice.
I would suggest going through the POTJ section and moving some of those topics, especially the 12" bounty hunter threads, since there is another wave coming soon.

Not particularly. I think it's easy enough to discuss them in the related sections as it is.:)

Yeah I don't know Jt.I don't think you'd drum up enough traffic to justify the extra work.I think all of us a few 12" but I really don't think there are many that are all that into them.I may be nut's too.Someone will let me know.

I'd like to see a forum devoted only to AOTC toys.

i'd be interested, but based on past forumite posts, i'm one of the few. i'd actually be interested in sitting down with the man in charge at hasbro and showing him a dragon and blue box 12 inch figure and asking him, "WHAT'S UP DUDE!!!"
i post over at a site called the "1/6th warrior forum", which is devoted to 12 inch figures of all variety, and hasbro 12 inchers are generally regarded as a joke by most there.
these are guys who sepnd thousands on 12 inch stuff, and would love quality 12 inch star wars product.

It would be good, although I don't think its that necessary.

I personally don't collect the 12'' series, so I wouldn't personally be interested in a 12'' section.
I also don't know how many people here are 12'' collectors either. But, I very rarely see any posts regarding them. There are some, but not enough that I would think they constitute their own forum. I think 12'' discussion in their corresponding line (i.e. POTF2, POTJ, Saga, etc.) is just fine.
Put me down for a Yes. While I don't buy too many 12" figs, I always look at them in stores and would love to keep talking about them.
So far I have been able to notice the current 12" threads, but if you create a section I will definitely participate. :D

Usually, I'd be up for it. But things seem slow on the 12 inch front. Not too much to get excited about. I wish we'd get a Hammerhead of Zutton to look forward to. Who cares about all these boring Jedi they keep cramming down our throats . . .

I would love to have a forum devoted to just the 12 in line. since there isn't as many, we can go back to when they started reissuing them in the mid-nineties and go from there (of course for those of you that are of a vintage peruasion, there is room for you as well)!

I think it would be cool, but it is not totally necessary. It could be useful though.

It would be a good thing because it would seperate it from the basic figure section and not cause any confusion and it would make a couple of things easier.

I am a 12" collector and I think I'd like this.
True there are less assortments and fewer releases per year, but a large part of 12" Collecting interests lies in wish lists too.
Those can be great discussions that get burried amongst all that's happening in the 3 3/4" realm.

HASBRO 12'' line is not as good as other companies like Dragon, BBI, sideshow toys, etc............
Only Marmit could stand straight before those, but it's expensive:greedy:
Yes. A lot of times the 12 inch figures really don't strike you as being so "hot" when you first see them. And then ten years down the road, you look at one and realize, hey, that is so cool. Some of the new figures they'll be releasing sound good to me, too. I read about a new Luke & Taun Taun (why they put Han on the Taun Taun never made any sense to me), that sounds very cool to me. Yet some of these new creatures that they released with Episode One I refuse to spend $ on (ARE YOU READING HASBRO?) because they look just plain cheap. Some of the "Custom" figures that people put on Ebay look better than some of the production line.
I have also found that many of the 12 inch figures are so much better - taken out of the box...
What say you?

Hi, guys new to the forums here, i post mostly at figures.com but recently found star wars collecting. I generally agree with the decent in opinions here, one needn't look further than the 1/6th scale figures by Dragon, Medicom, and Marmit to know that Hasbro has been pulling punches when it comes to figure quality.

these pics are why we need a 12 inch section. maybe hasbro will see these and get their act together. the repaint shows just how good the real scan has worked, just a better paint job and body were all that were necessary!

I would love a 12" Forum. I have kind of lost interest (mainly because I have almost every single release), but I love the idea of having a seperate forum. I hope it is not too late to give my 2 cents worth. Hope to see everyone at C2!

That Obi-Wan is so much cooler than the Hasbro paint job (which looks like he dipped his face into a big bowl of pudding), but it's still limited by the sculpt, which has WAY too thick of facial hair.
Ok, when Steve gets back from Celebration II, I think we may have a 12" forum.

I'm up for a 12" section. I didn't get into them before because of the price (and because I wasn't all into starwars like I am now). But now I can afford them and they are starting to look good. Though I wish I had gotten a StormTrooper when they were out during POTF. Storms are my favorites.

Here's an issue you guys might wanna consider, Steve was gonna make a 12" Saga sub-section (so it's JUST about 12" Saga figures, not POTJ or Ep 1 or AC/CS), and I thought 12" would be better discussed as all the 12" lines in one place. What do you think? (I know some of you have already stated your preference, but let's have it in writing :D)
bigbarada

I think it should be all in one forum; Vintage, POTF2, Ep1, POTJ, Saga.

I have to agree, even though I have been pretty cold on the 12" Figures as of late, but the upcoming Dooku and Super Battle Droid have excited me again. As well as the rest of the Bounty Hunter figures later this year. So, I think yeah...keep them all together. :)

Just take an 12" EP-II Anakin Skywalker on the one side, four different (ANH, POTF, EP-I, POTJ) Obi Wan Kenobi
3 3/4" figures on the other side. Where would you place a 12" EP-I Queen Amidala?

Sorry. I just wanted to say that each former 12"-figure is more related to the planned 12"-(Saga-)forum than to any of the 3 3/4"-figures in any other forum. I support your idea of all the 12" lines in one place.

So Derek, are you planning to bash a handmaiden custom with Dragon's Winnona?
*DROOL*
I fully support the idea of a dedicated 12" section of this forum (anything to avoid the MWD forum), in fact I just set up an account here hoping for that eventuality. I'm from the Warrior Forum too (Lightning31, :crazed: ) and if we can take some of talent from over there and encourage more of it over here, that'll be just peachy.
Since May 16th, the 12" Clonetroopers and Ultimate Jango have created quite a stir in the 1/6th scale community. Customs have popped up all over the Star Wars boards. The more hype that can be created for 12" SW figures the more improvement the line willl see.
At any rate, the 3-3/4" collectors will have nothing to lose.
...eh...nothing to gain either, but still....

Of course, I have not seen a lot of them, but you WILL be impressed:

Be sure an e-mail Roncula and tell him what you think! I'll try and let him know about this thread.

Hi, I just joined this site because I heard about the possibility of a 12" forum. I don't collect the little figures, but I do collect and customize the 12" SW figures. With the improvements Hasblow is (finally) making in the 12" figures, I think there will be a lot more interest.
