I read from a friend that Target is selling the new AOTC figures for $6.99. Is this true? I know different Target stores have different prices, but do they not have to follow the price cut?

That's how much the Targets here have 'em for too. $7.99 at K-B I think.

Yeah, they're $6.99. Mine has so many Geo Warriors and Dexters you'd think that it was pre-23. Backgrounds, too.

But I got some Bespin Guards instead. $2.70 isn't too bad.

$6.99 around here as well, $1.11 more than Wal-Mart.

But Wal-Mart sells 12" at $23.something while Target is at $19.99.

I was at one of my local Targets last nite and noticed that they had marked down the price on AOTC figs to $5.99. Its about time they got on the ball with WM and TRU.
They also reduced the prices on POTJ clearance items: Deluxe Slave Leia, Amanamananmanamanamanaman, and the 25th Anniversary sets were all marked down to $3.94.

Happy hunting!

If I sent you money or whatever to get me a Han+Chewie and a Luke+Leia 25th, could you do it? There's no Target near here and the 25ths here are like 20 bucks :(

We could even do it over the new Cantina thing if you want :)

My KB did the phoney "mark down the price in handwriting" thing, they lowered the price to $6.99.

All the figures I got from Target cost me $4.76. Target will match ad prices (walmart has a whole Star Wars theme in their newest ad) then I had a 10% off Target Visa Rewards coupon and my good old 10% employee discount. I ended up saving about $40 off of princess Leia's $200 lego ship and about $20 off of Lego Yoda. The best part of it all is that I spent enough money at Target on new Star Wars toys to earn myself a new 10% Target Visa rewards coupon for the next batch of Star Wars Toys!

I went by there yesterday and found the following:

Basic Saga figures: $5.99 (down from $6.99)
POTJ figures: $1.64 (on clearance; got a OB1 Jedi Armor and BSGuard)
POTJ deluxe: $3.74 (on clearance; got a Leia and Amanaman)
EP2 Soundtrack: $11.99 (on sale through Sat.; kept the receipt, so I'll get the difference back)

:)

Well the price cut only means that Hasbros "suggested retail" price went down to $5.99. In practice retail stores can actually sell them for any price they wish. If Target was dumb enough to sell them for $9.99 they could do that. Obviously no one would buy them, but...

Another thing that can determine pricing though, is how much Target buys the figures for. When Hasbro (or any company) sells products to a retail chain, they have to decide how much that chain is going to pay for each figure. Because they may have fewer stores or whatnot, Target may be buying the figures from Hasbro for $2.99 each, whereas Wal-Mart who is MUCH larger may only have to buy them for $1.50ea.

So that can affect the pricing a lot. Then there are places like KB Toys whose stores are almost entirely found in malls. They sell everything at higher costs because they typically spend so much on rent in the malls.
