About what time does Eps III going to take place in reference to eps. 4. How old is Anikin suppose to be when he becomes Vader. Obi-Wan looks awfully old as in what they say that EPS 1 takes like 30 years? before Eps 4.

Obi-Wan doesn't look that old. Assuming he's in his early 20s in Episode I, that'll still make him in his early 50s by Episode IV. Couple that with the ideas that he's been living in a desert and a harsh sun as well as the emotional anguish he's been living with, and it's not surprising he looks like he's well into his 60s.

I thought Vader was in his mid 40's in Ep. IV? Let's see in Ep. I Anakin is 9, Ep. II 19. So in Ep. III it might take place 3-5 years after AOTC? & IV will take place 18-20 years after Ep. III. Just making a logical guess, thanks.

There's a time line in the latest TV Guide that says Ep II takes place 22 years before ANH, and Ep III takes place 18 years before ANH, so that's 4 years between Ep II & III.

Or did we already know this?

Nope, previous reports had it at 2 years, so this is new. This would better correspond with the timeline for ANH, since Leia and Luke are both around 18 rather than 20.

Rick said 2 to 3 years at C2. I always thought 5 years sounded good myself ;).

I'm confused - I thought TPM was supposed to be 30 years before ANH and AotC ten years following TPM. That would make AotC twenty years before ANH.

The TV Guide says TPM is 32 years before ANH.

TPM is set 32 years before A New Hope, and AOTC's is 10 years later, so 22 years before ANH. So, TV Guide's 4 year estimate sounds about right, since the birth of the twins occurs in Episode III. It all depends on how old Luke is supposed to be in EIV, I always thought he was supposed to be 17 or 18.

Actually, the ANH script said that Luke was eighteen and Leia was sixteen.

No way. I can see Mark Hamill looking 18, but Carrie Fisher looked too old to be 16. Maybe 20-22.

Well, at this point they are twins.

Megs 2 your probably right to think 18-20 years cause in ANH Luke looks to be in his late teens, say 18 or nineteen so Anakin (Vader) being 9ish in TPM and nineteen in ATOC add on three to
five years after for Episode 2 (guess) then about 18 to 20 years for a ANH and there we have it 19 + 5 equals 24 to become Vader. Now 24 + 20 equals 44 Vaders age in ANH so Obi-Wan is
Appox 15 years older than Anakin 44 + 15 equals 59

Age to become Vader Approx. 24
Vader's Age in ANH Approx. 44
Obi-Wan's Age in ANH Approx. 59

using the highest possible numbers in the time frame so when Vader says your powers are weak old man he means it.
Not actual line. (word for word)

Thanks Brandon. The new TV Guide (3 Ep.II covers) has the timeline break down which should be offical.

I merged these 2 threads since they're on the same topic from different directions.

Anakin is supposed to be 9 in TPM; but the Ep2 visual dictionary lists him as 20 in AOTC. The back of the figure cards says that Ep2 takes place ten years after Ep1 so that would make Anakin 10 years old in Ep1.

Yes, but he could have been 9, almost going on 10, and in the book Shmi talks about it being his birthday when she's watching the skys for him at the Lars homestead. So, it can still be 10 years later, and Anakin be 11 years older. :)

This according to the official SW website (http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/anakinskywalker/index.html) regarding AOTC Ani: "Anakin became a confident, headstrong 19-year old with an impulsive nature and a flair for adventure."

I am guessing that, once again, the vis dict has made an error. ;)

I guess the VisDict could be wrong, or like JJB said maybe his birthday took place during TPM. Probably why he was saying "Yippee" so much.
