Nope. It appears his scene was cut or something. Nobody seems to be able to find the little guy . . .
I saw a wrecked droid on the landing platform, it kinda looked yellow but I couldn't tell for certain.
Maybe that's our little R2 unit ? :)

I thought it was him on the platform after the assasination attempt..all banged up and broken... but I dont get the big deal about him anyway

I think R3-t7 was the other R2 unit on the other Naboo Figther that escorted the Queens ship. That's the only scene I can think of that would have had an explosion and another R2 unit besides R2. Poor guy. Those R2 units get no respect.

Nope, that's not him. Look again and you'll see that the exploded droid doesn't ahve a clear dome. From what I have read R3 was either in a cut scene or in a background during the chase.

Just after Anakin picks up the falling Obi-Wan during the Coruscant chase, if you look at the third skyscraper to the right in the sixth window from the left on the 53rd floor you can just make out our little friend R3 getting electrocuted by a wall socket. He's only about half a millimeter high in the scene and it goes by pretty fast so look carefully.

I missed R3 the first time through, but upon a second viewing, I believe that I found him.
He is definately on Coruscant. You can see him as Obi-Wan and Anakin drag Zam out of the Bar to question her.
Look to the upper left of the screen as they come out of the bar...
Thanks B, I'll be on the lookout next time. Can't believe I missed that! :D

Right so when does he channel the force into the blue lightning...Then again, when does Jar Jar channel blue lightning.

The astromech that gets blown up on the landing platform is a droid that is exactly the same as R2-A6.

I totally forgot about that little bugger. It doesn't really matter to me that he wasn't in the movie or at least wasn't prominent at all. I'm just glad we got another astromech droid from Hasbro.

I agree with mandalorian candidat, it's nice to finally have a clear domed astromech so I can finally make customs of the R3's in the original triloogy (death star and Hoth.) I can't wait for the R5-D4 rerelease.

The following is from the index of AOTC cut-scenes on the Force.net. You can find it here:
R2-T7 an R2 Unit is a sneak preview figure that is to get blasted at some point, and while a significant role may have been reduced, he can still be seen just behind Padme and her Captain Typho just prior to the Senator's ship exploding. He is blown to pieces and can be seen smodering in the debris.
So.... assuming this is correct, we may get a better view of the droid when the DVD comes out with deleted scenes.
Ultimately though.... who cares? He's a pretty cool little droid figure.

Ah, so I was right, he is on that landing platform. Man, he could have been the greatest R2 unit ever! I love those droids. haha. I'm going to campain for a new toy - THE ASTROMECH ASSEMBLY PLANT...who's with me? haha

I still don't buy it. That droid WAS Kelly Green and White with a Metal Dome. Guess, I'll have to go and watch the film again . . .

Actually, alot of those are fan submiited...and some of them are wrong. So, the mystery of R3-T7 will remain, until we get confirmation from screenshots that that was the droid on the landing platform. :)
MTFBWY and HH!!

Maybe he was the first hired assassin to kill Padme before Zam, and he was taken out somehow. haha Maybe we should just make a fan site for the little guy.

He might have been the astromech droid for the Naboo Fighter that was blown off the landing platform.
The one behind Padme and Typho was obviously green, so my guess is R3-T17 took a dive when the big shiny ship was blown up.

That was my first assumption but everyone isn't so sure. haha. I think astromechs are cool.
