I was window shopping at Best Buy for digital cameras. I stumbled on a great deal on an opened but completely new one. So, I couldn't resist. I thought I would test it with my collection. So I'll post pictures, let me know what you think. It's poorly organized, so don't laugh too much! :D

Nice pics, QLD. Impressive, most impressive...
Do you have anymore pics?

QLD

Heh Derek.

I don't live with him, but I do let him rent space on top of my bookshelf every so often! :D

It's a Sony Cyber Shot. It is 3.3 megapixels. 3x optical zoom, and 6x digital zoom. It is priced at 499. BUT, i got it for 350. They had returned it, but never even taken the camera out of the plastic. I think it may be missing the strap. But, big whoop! I am happy with it so far. It does video real well too.

Thanks Jango! Those ar ethe only ones I have done so far. But I will have PLENTY more in the future!

05-21-2002, 09:43 PM
Thanx QLD, you have far more open though then I have. And a few other items I wish I had:D. I started off as an all carded collector. But over the years I bought doubles to open. I have more pics, Just takes too long to load up. Here's another for you though. Its my POTJ collection:

QLD
05-21-2002, 09:45 PM
Awesome! I used to collect carded, but it got too expensive, and I ended up keeping them in the closet. So I gave up, and now I open EVERYTHING. I have just about everything I want so far, minus a couple of vehicles.

I like your use of the "Can Space Savers" to display the figs. Good idea!

I'm still looking for a few things from the older lines. I almost hit the Holy Grail of vintage figs! A woman at work was going to give me about 100 figs, 10 vehicals, and the Ewok village for about $150! Then her husband found out how much they were worth:cry:. I had no intention of reselling, just trying to replace my "lost collection" (like you haven't heard that one before!).

Ok, Ok, you twisted my arm! Here's another pic. This one is my Bendies. A friend of mine said, "You collect SW right? Here, you can have these, I don't want them anymore."

QLD
05-21-2002, 10:09 PM
That's cool. I haven't seen bendies in ages. I don't have any vintage figures, except for a few Landos. Having all Lando's is a necessity for all SW collectors. :D

I had the Ewok village when I was a kid. Heck, I had them all, unfortunately, unlike my friend, I was not so kind to my figures through my puberty/bb gun stage.

QLD
05-21-2002, 10:17 PM
Oh

I got the idea for the space savers while I was looking in some junk stores. They had stuff displayed on larger versions of those, and I thought.....hey.

I found these at Lowe's. But you can probably also find them at Home Dept and Wal-Mart. The only drawback is that it looks like a Star Wars class picture. :D

WoW the starwars bendeys that brings me back.great collections guys,I think I will get my stuff from my grandparent's house and display,Since I never could because my littel sisters always took them and then the dog chewed them up,just one big mess but I got a pad lock and thats the only thing that stands between them and my EP2 collection.

QLD
05-22-2002, 12:56 PM
My dog likes to wait below my feet for me to drop a figure, so he can eat the head off. E2 Boba Fett and E1 Yoda have already fallen victom to that. As well as a couple of starting lineup. The Boba Fett happened the day of midnight madness. I wasn't thrilled about having to go out and find another one the next day.

derek, nice Jango! Didn't relize he looked so good! Who is that standing behind him? And what are you shooting off of?

I've got a Kodak DX3600 with 2.2 megapixel resoultion, 3x optical zoom, 6 x digital zoom, 8MB internal storage, external storage bay, and the one touch download docking bay/battery charger:D.

Hey! I too have the Super Bowl XXV commemorative card set.

I have since gone out and gotten many of the cards autographed. About 25 of them. They are great for that!
Maybe I will take some pictures of my sports autograph collection.

06-13-2002, 09:18 AM
Ahhh Yes. But nothing can ever truely top the Rocky Horror Picture Show card set!!!! no Joe Thiesmen or Brett Farve could ever stand up to the power of Dr. Frankenfurter or Riff Raff!!! :D

QLD,

the camera is made by olympus. it's 1.3 megapixel. i got it for $120. i know almost nothing about digital cameras, so i didn't want to spend to much on a "starter kit". the image looks pretty good though, so i think i'm happy with it.:)

dar argol,

yea, jango is cool. but i did put him on a 21st century super soldier body. behind him is the BBI kevin sorbo figure from the andromedia tv show. i bought him for the "kit bash" potential.:)
i needed his long black undershirt for my clonetrooper, because the sleeves on the hasbro clonetrooper suit are too short when i put it on another figure body. i got him on clearance at a toys r us.

jeditricks,

yea, that saber is cool.;) what's cooler is it cost a fraction of what the master replicas saber cost, and as best i can tell it is a spot on replica.:) i was able to compair it to the actual screen prop at the magic of myth tour, and it's very good.:)

QLD
06-13-2002, 09:53 AM
Well, since I was bored this morning, I took pictures "some" of my autograph collection. The more interesting ones anyway. Enjoy.

Nice collection! I kinda got out of sports card collection a few years ago. Was never really into autographs. THe best one I got though was the Ripkin Family. I ran in Cal Ripkin back in 82 I think it was. Literally ran into him, walked right into the man in the parking lot of Memorial Stadium. I live right across the street at the time and my grandfather and I were walking backl from a game. Of course I wasn't looking where I was going. Walked right into Cal! He was there talking to his dad and brother. I got all three of them to sign my program. We stood and talked for a while, about the game and other stuff. Real nice guy to talk to.

Hmmm . . . . . . . I wonder where I put that program??

QLD
06-13-2002, 10:08 AM
I don't really collect sports cards anymore. I just buy them every so often so that I can get them autographed. I used to have tons of old Braves autographs from when I was a kid. Somehow, I have lost them all. They aren't worth money, but the sentimental value was great!

derek
06-13-2002, 10:09 AM
QLD,

did you get all those autographed personally? did you got to sports shows or get them at games? that's a pretty good collection.:)

QLD
06-13-2002, 10:25 AM
I would say about 50% of them are in person at games, charity events, card shows, and training camps. The other 50% I have gotten through the mail.

I have around 500 total autographed cards. I am very fond of the collection.

Mine is tempermental in low-light conditions, but has great true-colors and its MACRO mode (for close-ups closer than 12 inches, perfect for toys) is fantastic.

BTW, is your saber from J&E Reproductions... like mine? ;) I really love mine from them, but it has one minor nit, the faucet-handle-style bottom has curved-edged nubs rather than the straight-edged ones of the prop.

jeditricks,

yea that's who i got it from. i had forgotten their name. i just checked their website, and it looks like they have corrected the "knob" area of the saber you were referring to.:)

i didn't notice that until you pointed it out.:)

Dar' Argol

I really like the replica sabers but without the $ for them . . . . . . . :(. So, like a true Jedi, I have built my own. I posted these in another thread and they are far from finished. But I thought why spend $100+ When I can build one of a kind sabers for myself.

I have too much time on my hands:rolleyes:.

RATS! I buy mine and THEN they correct this issue! Oh well, I guess mine is unique... except for yours... and the rest of 'em out there. ;) I noticed it right away when I got mine, but it was so good in every other respect that I couldn't complain.

Nice sabers DA, a little rough (especially the bolt heads on #1) but they look very unique and cool.

Dar' Argol
06-23-2002, 08:12 PM
I got my X-Wing for only $15!!!! I could not pass that up. Took me a while to build it, and only 5 minutes for my cat to destroy it. Knocked it off the shelve I had it on:mad:. I put it back together, but I have to rebuild the gear box, the wings don't open the same anymore:(

Last year I bought the Canon Powershot S110 Digital Elph and boy it's amazing. It's the smallest 2.1 MP camera around and not only takes 3 different picture resolutions but 3 movie resolutions too. I have taken over 1000 photos so far and more are on the way. It's a great camera for anyone who wants a nice camera but doesn't want to pay an arm and a leg for one. My next one, however, will probably be a 4 or 5 MP one. Digital is great!

 ;) :p Gotcha!!!

It was an old case from Wal-Mart used in the electronics section. It use to hold new release games and such. WM go in all new, re-designed video game cases and I put them up in my store overnight. As Thanx, I got to keep that case:D The one I have b/4 was a small eye glasses case from our Vision Center when we remodled.:D
