2 from Brian's Toys back in the day for an ungodly amount. I had to cave since no local retailer was stocking star wars around here anymore.

Then I got 3 more from the local comic shop guy for about 9 bucks a pop.

Had to bite the bullet since there wasn't a figure to be found.

I bought a sealed Hasbro case that had R2 and 2 CTC Stormies (and several Lukes, Hans, Greedos, and Vaders, but they're not interesting to the story :D) from an online retailer (I can't remember the name all of a sudden) who was selling them for what they would have cost per figure at retail.

A friend found me a miny-mint one for my small collection of mint carded figures at TRU in Las Vegas many months later for $2.

never found one and never ordered one, so that means I still don't have one
but if I find him for a decent price I'll gladly buy him:) till then I'm not interested in paying much money for him, even if he is the best R2 to date

I bought mine from Jam's Toys for like $6-$7 (got 2 of them) along with a couple of Stormies.

I traded one for a Canadian R2 with holo Leia for my foreign collection.

BTW, NOONE I know of got gobs of these at TRU! A couple here and there, but he was still pretty underproduced!

I got mine at Wal-Mart for regular price. I went to a Wal-Mart grand opening and they had two on the shelf. One for me, and one for a guy that was there beside me.

Did you get it from NewForceComics? I also ordered a case of that wave from them and it only cost 6-7 per figure.

Never found any at TRU, either my TRU got nothing but non-R2 cases (doubtful by the amount of figs they had), all the R2s were bought up by scalpers and/or other peeps before I got there, or they were being under-stocked by employees. Still gotta find a 2nd R2. :frus: :(

Bought my first one at The Field Museum in Chicago during the Star Wars exhibit. Then got 5 more on ebay in a lot for $50.00. Not bad, i guess. I did find a lot of great things at TRU for $2, but never did see an R2.

i just bought one on ebay for 13.75 . afterwards i felt like such an *** about how much i'd paid. But I've gotten some fast sickness to build up a new loose ANH collection. In the last two weeks i've bought 27 figures to open. Its like a drug addiction. I'm going crazy i can't stop. four more to go Aunt Beru, BoShek, R4-M9, and Wuher. And its done. whew...Aotc sparked a new fire in me. Damn! lol i still feel violated on 99 percent of ebay prices.sigh

Mine was in an unopened case I bought off of eBay. The seller had several of these cases for the BIN price of like $45. A pretty good deal, though I still have more Hans, Greedos, and Vaders than I need. :D

A friend found a couple for $8 each on eBay and I traded him a carded Dark Empire Luke for it. I too opened the little droid, but that candy that came with it was terrible! :p

Bought mine from the dealer I go to at my local flea market, back when it came out. He only got in two R2 cases (thus, had only two R2's), so it cost me $45. Most I ever spent on a figure, but considering I never saw it in TRU or any other store, it was worth it.

Got mine from TRU during the Great Sale a couple years back for $1.97. Best deal I ever got on a Star Wars figure. I wouldn't have even gotten him, if a manager hadn't come by as I rummaged through a bin of CTC Stormies and Vaders and asked if I found everything okay. When I told him I wanted an R2, he stepped to the back and pulled one that one of their employees had stashed. (Apparently they aren't supposed to do that.)

Needless to say, I was extremely grateful! Still only have the one, and I opened it. By far, the best R2 sculpt to date.
