Rebelscum is reporting this afternoon that there is a variation on the Han Solo: Endor Raid figure. The Droid Caller on his belt, that activates his quick draw feature has been changed from the incorrect white, to a more correct grey color. Here is the report, and some pictures for those intrested in this sort of thing. :)

Han Endor Variation
Mark: According to our information, early versions of the figure were produced with a white "droid caller" action lever. Later versions, as seen in our archives, now sport a gray lever/caller. The gray lever is actually closer to movie accurate than the early version, but variation hunters are sure to watch for both just the same. Good luck, and happy hunting!

I guess I got the corrected one then, because I have the grey one. At least, I think I have the grey one.
When I get a chance, I'll go check it out :D.

End .

Oh, another Saga figure variation! What a surprise!

Eh, this will go the way of the closed handed Tusken Raider and open handed Han Hoth from the POTF2 line. Anybody remember those? I didn't think so.

I remember them, I used to be quite the varient collector back in the day. Thank the gods that I broke myself of that habit when POTJ and Saga figures came out. :)

Hey, to each his own I guess.:)

I used to hunt for variants also, back in the early days of POTF2, until I noticed a basic rule for how to judge a rare figure. "If I (meaning me, BigB) can actually find it on the pegs at retail, then it is not rare." End of story. I have no luck with such things. So the next time you want to know if a variant will be rare or not, then just ask me if I have found them on the pegs. If so, then you know it will never be rare.;)

Besides look at the history of the line. Of all the variants of the vintage line (small/large head Han, orange/brown snake Yoda, teeth/no teeth Lando, turtle/crew-neck Leia Bespin, brown/yellow hair Luke, grey/white hair Ben, vinyl/cloth cape Jawa, red/blue Snaggletooth, green/blue saber Luke Jedi) only two of them are really worth a significant amount above their common counterpart, on average. Blue Snaggletooth and Vinyl Caped Jawa. Both of those represented an actual production change, not simply an accessory color change or a paint correction.

I know variations like the Bespin Leia's neckline and Han Hoth's scarf are legitimate mold changes; but they are not really prominent enough to get a lot of notice, and were both available in relatively equal numbers.

But if you have fun collecting variants, then who am I to tell you to stop?:)
