Great news, STAR WARS action figure fans! Hasbro will be re-issuing “fan favorites” from the popular VINTAGE line. Hasbro has heard fans loud and clear, and as such only the “best of the best” characters from previously released waves will be featured in the revived line. The new series of VINTAGE figures will be available starting in early February 2013. Distribution of characters may vary by location and is not controlled by Hasbro, so please check your local retailer for your favorite characters around that time.

After a comet damages their shuttle, R2-D2, Colonel Gascon and the other droids crash on a desolate planet where they must make their way across a bewildering expanse of emptiness to carry out their mission in “A Sunny Day in the Void,” airing this Saturday, December 8th at 9:30am ET/PT on Cartoon Network.

The first 20 levels of Angry Birds Star Wars - Episode V: Hoth have already been released as an update to the iOS and Android versions of the game, and for the PC version later today. The game introduces the Princess Leia bird, who has an aimed tractor beam ability, adding a strategic twist to the regular Angry Birds pink bird's contact bubble ability.

Following in the footsteps of his longtime friend and collaborator George Lucas, it looks like Star Wars producer Rick McCallum is quietly retiring from Lucasfilm as well. In fact, that should actually be said in the past tense as LucasFilm team member Steve Sansweet announced on ForceCast (via The Playlist) that McCallum has actually already retired from LucasFilm.
