• Savage and Maul and Death Watch on Saturday's Clone Wars

Savage and Maul forge an alliance with the Death Watch that targets their common foe: Obi-Wan Kenobi.

After barely escaping their encounter with the Jedi at the beginning of the season, Savage and Maul are found by Death Watch. Both parties forge an alliance when they realize they have a common enemy in the Jedi general, Obi-Wan Kenobi, in “Eminence,” airing this Saturday, January 19th at 9:30am ET/PT on Cartoon Network.

      Trivia:

      • Guest Stars: Pre Vizsla is voiced by Producer/Director Jon Favreau, Darth Maul is voiced by actor Sam Witwer (Being Human), Savage Opress is voiced by actor Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption) and Bo-Katan is voiced by actress Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica).
      • The discovery of the incapacitated Sith brothers, nearly frozen in a drifting starship, was staged as an homage to the opening scenes of Aliens (1986) wherein Ripley is found by a salvage team.
      • All the Huttese dialogue in the episode was translated from English. The phrase “Stuka Crispo,” heard uttered by Jabba the Hutt, means “Death Watch.”

This episode could be the setup for one of the best Clone Wars story arcs...ever!

I won't be able to see this episode until it goes online tomorrow, but Dave Filoni has said that the rest of the season contains probably the best (or at least his favorite) work they've done on the show. It'll be nice to have some heavy episodes after the D-Squad fluff. And from the looks of the previews, this takes place right after "Revival," which technically was the start of a four-part arc until it was moved to the season premiere.

It was just good to see the show recover from "Jedi Babies" and "Dipsey Droids"...the season had become unwatchable. This episode was a good step back away from that....I'm not a fan of Maul's "resurrection", but this episode jad enough going for it to pique my interest again...
