• 'Star Wars' actor Richard LeParmentier dead at 66

Actor Richard LeParmentier, best known for portraying Admiral Motti in Star Wars, died suddenly at the age of 66 while visiting his family in Austin, Texas. The Pittsburgh-born actor worked regularly throughout the 70s and 80s, appearing in such films as Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

“Every time we find someone’s lack of faith disturbing, we’ll think of him,” the official statement from his family reads, referring to the actor’s famous scene in Episode IV: A New Hope in which Darth Vader chokes Admiral Motti for doubting the power of the Force.

2 weeks ago? Totally can see that being surreal, he's there one moment and gone the next. But it also really shows how much dedication he had for the fans. I saw him last in Gentle Giant's booth at last year's SDCC, and he was so cool to everyone just like the other times I've seen him. 67's not that old for an ANH actor, this news strikes me as "too soon" in that respect. My condolences to his family, he seemed like a genuine talent who held a special place and shared love for our hobby, he will be missed.

What's everyone having for lunch today?

Noticed there was still a container of taco meat, plus a package of tortillas: add in a little cheese and L (as was mentioned above) and you got a burrito.
