• LEGOLAND Star Wars Miniland Features In Video

Attachment 24738During the grand opening of Legoland California's Star Wars Miniland, part of the fun was tracking down all the fun little touches and animated bits. These animations and features add a lot of personality to the miniland dioramas. Some are operated by button presses, while others are on a timer. For you guys who could not make it to the event, I took videos of every animated element, though I did not capture the audio-only elements since there were a large number. The videos are presented in movie chronological order, the Miniland layout itself is a clockwise circle starting from the west, with the massive Christophsis battle diorama in the middle.

(a few video files were corrupted and thus unusable, these aren't edited for length, and the camera I shot with is a still camera with a mediocre microphone so much of the audio is not great.)

      Episode I: Naboo

      Episode II: Geonosis

(A second button and speaker was there for the Arena display, but that was the lone element not working.)

Star Wars - The Clone Wars: Christophsis

(There was actually more smoke from the other end of the battlefield, but the timing was unclear and the wind was making it difficult to capture on camera.)

      Episode III: Kashyyyk & Mustafar

(This battle actually goes on for a lot longer, the video length on that is prohibitively large and doesn't really say anything beyond what you see there, so I didn't use it.)

      Episode IV: Tatooine

(This one is nearly all audio, I shot the whole bit not knowing where the Falcon's lights come on - it's around 28 seconds in. The audio is much more audible in the park, obviously.)

      Episode V: Hoth
(The Wampa cave and the Bacta Tank videos are the corrupted files. The Wampa cave lights up blue and the Wampa yells super loud, no physical animation. The bacta tank bubbles.)

      Episode VI: Endor

There you have it, (nearly) all of LEGOLAND California's Star Wars Miniland animated elements. You can also check out our coverage of the entirety of Legoland's Star Wars Miniland from the grand opening photo gallery.

The atmospheric sound effects, particularly on Geonosis and Endor, really work to sell it. Very cool animations. Thanks for sharing!

Sure thing, thanks for checking them out. I had never used that camera before, and was nervous it wouldn't deliver anything.

The Geonosis vid with the raising and lowering Republic Gunship, not sure if you can make it out, but it starts with Yoda giving an order from the movie (take me to the command post order), I was a bit surprised to hear character voices there. Endor is the other place with character voices, and Echo Base has some lines I think.

No Clone Wars forum? Who wishes more?

I still want more Clone Wars figures in the animated Style. I hope Hasbro will make these 3 3/4 inch figures.

      Stupid movie ideas

I propose Brittany, Miley, and Madonna are cast in a musical remake of The Golden Girls.

Still taking suggestions for a 4th cast member.

Star Trek Beyond: the one where Kirk wears a leg holster and Star Lord's costume

This movie is almost out and I cringe at thinking how bad it might be.

Here is to hoping it is at least better then how awful I'm expecting

      Open Range

I think I would place this in my top five of all-time favorite Westerns.

Poe is a third-tier pegwarmer at Target, but first or second at Walmarts around here, and I think also at TRU.

I was on the fence about that

      Poe pegwarms?

I'd actually buy a single Poe with the 2-pack head. But I'm indifferent to Nines and not a fan of a $40 price tag.
