• Sneak Peek at LEGO 2012 Offerings

Attachment 25393LEGO's 2012 offerings are still a few months away, but an early peek at what appears to be a high quality scan shows off the 2012 Star Wars sets, among others. These are, of course, still unconfirmed, and preliminary versions, but ultimately this looks like the real deal, so these are likely representative of what we'll be seeing for the first half of 2012.

There look to be 6 sets total all from the movies rather than Clone Wars, each set sporting 4 minifigs, for a total of 24 minifigs. Unfortunately for Star Wars fans, the Porkins X-wing pilot figure doesn't use a custom body, so it's a skinny Porkins for the first time in collecting history - but collectors' imaginations won't have to do all the work, there's a great face design for the minifig, and the helmet looks surprisingly accurate.

Check out the full-sized 2012 preliminary scans over on LEGO fan blog BrickTuts.

I always thought PVC was more durable than ABS since I've seen PVC pipe sit out in open sunlight for almost 20 years and not yellow or become brittle.

I never really cared much for the flimsy lenses either. They just seem like they're waiting to get some kind of crinkle in them. I may try your idea,
