Star Wars fanatic jailed for killing wife who smashed toy collection

La-Touche said Thai-born Pornpilai Srisroy had smashed up his prized collection of Star Wars toys, which he had built up since he was a child. La-Touche – also known as Rickie Nehls – suffocated his wife, 28, then ran sobbing to his mother, who lived in a nearby street.


The 30-year-old told police his wife had wanted to ‘make his life hell’ and once threatened to kill him when he was asleep then ‘cut him up and eat him’. He claimed he was a henpecked husband who flipped after Srisroy threatened to leave the marital home in Greater Manchester and go back to Thailand.


Srisroy died in April when the couple – who had a child together – rowed violently at 6.30am. A relative later went to the house and discovered her body in the bedroom.


Senior investigating officer Andy Tattersall, from Greater Manchester Police, said: ‘This is a tragic case. La-Touche will have to live the rest of his life with the awful knowledge that he is responsible for killing his wife.’


La-Touche denied murder but pleaded guilty to manslaughter. He was ordered to serve a minimum of 12 years.
