Attachment 24531This just in from Hasbro's Star Wars Toy Fair presentation...

      - The Vintage Collection will run through 2012.

      - Big Republic Attack Ship confirmed, to be released in August. Shuttle converts to a playset, has an "interactive mode."

      - There will be 35 Vintage figures in 2011.

      - Vintage will include Expanded Universe, and Deleted Scenes from the upcoming Blu-Ray set.

      - Fi-Ek Sirch, the Nikto Jedi, is a confirmed Vintage figure.

      - Bom Vimdin, Captain Fordo, Logray, Kithaba the skiff guard.

      - Nom Anor, Bastilla Shan from the EU.

      - Ponda Baba will have 2 sets of hands (the flippers and the regular hands) plus a removable arm.

      - 12 figures will come on chase packaging for "Revenge of the Jedi" in August, and they will be "easy to get." If you buy all 12 at San Diego Comic-Con, you get a special Death Star clamshell package and a Salacious Crumb and Mouse Droid on their own mini Vintage cards.

      - The Fall 2011 figure mail-in will be Boba Fett in prototype armor.

      - Blu-Ray Commemorative Packs that form a collage.

      - This year will see the final wave of Galactic Heroes, after that Hasbro will be switching to a preschool version of the Jedi Force figures.

      - Exclusives include Disney Parks Star Tours sets.

      - Kmart will get an exclusive Captain Lock figure.

      - Target will get Vintage 3-packs.

      - Force FX Kit Fisto lightsaber is coming.

And that's it for the details. We should have the slideshow images later today, so check back for them.

Some great news in there, but I'm quite surprised that Galactic Heroes is being closed down, that took me aback.

Tycho finally gets his carded Mouse Droid... if he can get into Comic-Con at all, he didn't get his badge thanks to the SDCC site's screwups.

Ponda gets flippers and hands! That's crazy awesome.

The rumors of the Jawa Sandcrawler seem to be not so accurate.

Tycho's gonna lose his mind. More so than he already has.

Good stuff coming from Hasbro for Star Wars. Just hope I get a great Vintage Jar Jar Binks for TPM.

Hell, we still kinda need good figures of him for AotC. Both the Apartment and Senate Address outfits.

I hope you get in, Tycho! That crap ain't right.
Considering that you live nearby, you can make their lives a living Hell.
May be a good idea to leave the rubber chickens at home, though.

Why aren't you there with Steve Mike?

The only way to get a SDCC badge the easy way is to get it at the Con the year before. I hope that service doesn't go away any time soon.

The Death Star 12 pack sounds cool.

I never go to Toy Fair, the expense of flying to New York, not to mention the time I'd have to take off work, is too much for me.

I suspect this year it will be, now that the con is being run by clowns, and everybody knows they have to do it.

Wow, some very cool stuff so far!

I'm thrilled about Ponda Baba's extra hands. I've wanted the white Boba Fett for some time now, so that'll be awesome! I wonder what the Death Star box looks like? I see from other sites' notes that one of the Star Tours sets will have the Utai. Sweet!

        I can't wait for pictures!

OH! At first I was confused, thought Boba Fett mail-away would be recycling the McQuarrie figure we got from '07, but now I get it, it's the regular armor in white from the SW Chronicles book and the parade he was first seen in. I hope they include his funky poncho, it was big there, not like the little hanging one on most Fetts we get now.

There was a tease about that Boba Fett recently that alluded to the poncho. So it probably will.

Kithaba looks great so far, but I want to see some higher quality photos of his face. However, the overall figure looks really good.!

Scum has a pic from the showroom of the Death Star set....

        Looks like:

Luke Skywalker: Jedi Knight (w/ Manacles)
        Stormtrooper
        Han Solo: Endor Gear
        R2-D2: Jabba's Sail Barge
        Darth Vader
        B-Wing Pilot
        Salacious Crumb

        Admiral Ackbar
        Boba Fett
        Endor Rebel Soldier
        Wicket
        Slave Leia
        TIE Fighter Pilot
        Mouse Droid

The new Galactic Heroes line looks good also. Finally a real Landspeeder! And a new Jar Jar!

The figure choices are good, and the Salacious Crumb and Mouse Droid cards are cute ideas, but I'll pass on that set. The figures are mostly repacks anyway, and while I do like the cards, I have no doubt this will be an expensive set (especially due to its exclusivity). When they're released individually, I wonder how they'll deal with some of the figures - namely Leia (will they include her extra bottom half?) and the B-wing pilot (will it have a new head, at least?). In the Forcecast, Derryl said that the TIE Fighter Pilot was a good enough figure to go on a vintage card as it is, saying that ankles are overrated.

I get the feeling the Death Star Revenge set at SDCC won't be more than buying them at retail, but that's still around $120. I'm only considering buying it because I just booked my hotel and got a discount (I'm paying less for 4 nights than most con-goers are paying for 1).

I don't understand how they can go without ankle articulation, that's the most important joint below the waist joint IMO because it makes the knees and hips usable, otherwise the figure would just fall over.

Looks like the new Jedi Babies line (or whatever it's called) with the big shoulders and small waists will be reusing some GH vehicles. I think the Snowspeeder and Jedi Starfighter are rehashes.

I was really excited to read this, until I saw a pic.... looks like he'll be dressed in bright orange instead of dark green. Oh well, better than not getting him at all I suppose.

The figure-and-vehicle sets for The Clone Wars look like they're moving in a very mini-rig sort of direction, with small ships based on bigger ones from the series and films. From the show, we're getting Boba and Castas with their speeders - and Boba has his Man With No Name poncho. Sweet!

I saw that about the Utai as well. It's not even the unreleased mold. Oh well. I'm at least glad they're figuring into the ride. Looks like that set also has one of the window droids from AOTC, albeit in a different color.

35 vintage figures to me spells the end of the uniqueness of that line. Good job Hasbro.

When has the line ever been "unique"? Besides, 35 over a year isn't exactly a lot.

When they had just the original few when they first came out. I was under the impression that they were gonna a) only release a few a year and b) keep to just figures that were actually released on the vintage cards. To me ROTS isn't quite vintage...

You can blame the people that really liked the Vintage card design.

They kept calling for more. And then for figures that never had vintage versions.

And then people wanted Prequel characters on Vintage style cards. So Hasbro gave them what they wanted.

I am not digging that EU vintage card logo. The "Star Wars" on the same line has never been done before, and "Expanded Universe" being big on top and smaller on the bottom with a line in the middle doesn't work for my tastes.
