• eFX Brings Ray Park's Maul Saber Replica to WonderCon

eFX Collectibles has earned a reputation for unrivaled prop replica authenticity, and at WonderCon 2012 in Anaheim, CA, they unveiled their newest licensed Star Wars piece, a replica of the Darth Maul lightsaber hilt used by actor Ray Park in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. eFX's prototype at their convention booth was so fresh that it didn't yet have its emitter ends in place.

The prototype is designed in exacting detail from the original, and is unusual for a Star Wars lightsaber prop in that the original straddled the line between Stunt saber and Hero saber, it was made of both metal and resin due to the very active martial arts nature of Park's performance.

This piece should prove to be a very impressive collectible for fans who crave a massive level of detail and screen-accurate authenticity. Fans can look forward to more details like eFX's release date and pricing this summer at San Diego Comic-Con, which of course we will bring you.

You can see more pictures of the saber, as well as the rest of eFX's booth, in our WonderCon 2012 eFX photo gallery.

Those have always been overpriced, IMHO. Sad, really. But they are quality cards, so I guess you pay what you get for.
