To commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Star Wars™ franchise in 2007, LEGO Direct to Consumer unveiled an exclusive 5,000+ piece LEGO Star Wars™ Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon™ – the largest LEGO set ever made available to the public that recreates the most iconic model in the Star Wars universe – at a VIP bash held for collector media Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Westin Times Square in New York.

Editor's Note: Check out our Toy Fair coverage of the UCS Millennium Falcon on display at the VIP bash.

Priced at $499.99, the set will be available in October, however, LEGOshop.com is accepting pre-orders starting February 10, 2007 at 8:00pm EST. Free shipping is available on all orders placed by March 31. All orders will begin shipping on October 1, 2007.

Measuring 33.1 inches long x 22.2 inches wide x 8.3 inches high, the Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon is built in LEGO minifigure scale and features authentic functionality, like a retractable boarding ramp, removable cockpit top providing access to minifigures, rotating guns in the top and bottom turrets, and rotating and elevating radar disc. The set includes a gallery of iconic Star Wars minifigures including: Han Solo™, Chewbacca™, Obi-Wan Kenobi™, Luke Skywalker™, and Princess Leia™ Organa.

"LEGO Group always does a fantastic job creating exclusive LEGO Star Wars sculptures and collectibles, but the Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon is by far our favorite and the most iconic of all of the Star Wars vehicles," said Derek Stothard, director of licensing, LucasFilm.

In 1999, Star Wars became the LEGO Group's first licensed property and continues to be the one of the company's best-selling lines. Since launch, a number of very successful, exclusive LEGO Star Wars sets have been developed and sold through LEGO Direct to Consumer channels, delivering a highly collectible line packed with building fun.

"The combination of advanced, over-the-top LEGO building with iconic Star Wars vehicles is extremely appealing to LEGO fans around the world," said Skip Kodak, vice president, LEGO Direct to Consumer. "LEGO versions of the Millennium Falcon are among the most popular and highly requested products from the LEGO community. We are thrilled to bring the largest LEGO set ever created to consumers in the 30th anniversary of the Star Wars franchise."
