Last night, a few hundred Jedi enthusiasts crammed into Washington Square Park for a giant Lightsaber Battle. There were demonstrations of proper lightsaber technique, people dressed as Sith Lords, lots of children and various non-Star Wars characters, including zombies, ninjas and even a Pikachu, all partaking in the fun. There was even some under-the-radar lightsaber battle betting going on.

While the word "shock" probably isn't the best way to describe the news given that we're talking about, you know, "Star Wars" here, 20th Century Fox and Lucasfilm have announced that the nine-disc "Complete Saga" Blu-ray of the series has broken sales records in only its first week, with over a million copies sold around the world (that's $84 million in spending globally) and 500,000 in North America alone. This makes it the bestselling catalog title in the history of the Blu-ray format, which has been available to the general public since June 2006.

Something's fishy in Lucas Land! Season four of Cartoon Network's Star Wars: The Clone Warskicks off Friday with the first two parts of a gorgeously animated three-episode story set underwater on the planet Mon Calamari. "It's a massive undertaking for us with some of the most ambitious battle sequences we've ever staged in this series," says supervising director Dave Filoni. The plot finds our heroes trying to protect a young prince whose father was assassinated and includes a new badass shark character named Riff Tamsen. "He's a brute force, big-time personality — our homage to Jaws!" Filoni says with a laugh.
