Hypothetically, if I had that kind of disposable income in the first place, I'd at least want the rest of the uniform with it. $10 grand...heck, even $5000 is too much for just the helmet, even if it is an original. Fact is, a lot of the actual props and costumes weren't made very well in the first place, so the only real value is in it's authenticity of being onscreen. There are guys at the 501st who make very very good versions themselves for far less than that.
But hey, if you've got the money to burn, why not?
I agree that $10,000 is totally excessive for this prop but that's the difference with those other available helmets; this is a prop not a costume.
If I had money to burn my apartment wouldn't be so cold. ;)
I wish I could have it :frus:
Me too! But not for 10 grand. That is a cool photo on the ad.
I never knew they had green lenses for the eyes. Looks pretty cool with them.
Bah, it's not worth it I think. Don Post made an awesome set for about 2,000 or something (don't remember the exact price) that was a very accurate looking helmet, tubes and even came with the chest box so if you had the cash to throw around you could've even made it into an AT-AT Driver helmet set.
so if someone gave it to you, you wouldn't want it? :)
I thought Don Post only made and had licenses for the helmets and not other costume accessories.
There is not way I'd spend $10,000 on it. I wonder how much it's really worth. It's a very nice piece though. A nice piece of Star Wars history.
