I was just wondering how to figure out the SKU numbers at Target. Are these the same numbers that are printed on the receipts next to each item? Thanks.

Target uses a system called DPCI.
DPCIs are on the shelf tags. They are 000-00-0000
The ever elusive Clone Wars multipacks for instance are:
087-06-0629
Everthing in the action figure section is
087 = toys
06 = action figures
0629 = product #
The receipt shows the UPC code for each item, unless the cashier sees multiples, and just changes the quanity without scanning EACH item.
If the toy you want has a tag on the shelf or peg, the DPCI number is on that tag. You just have to be able to read small print.
Thanks for the info, Darths Chuck and Sidiously. That clears it up for me. Not sure why I thought they were called sku numbers. But DPCI definitely rings a bell.
