Another quick report:
Sh. oaks Target had some of the newer CW wave, shirtless savage, and snow plo and had traces of Tvc wave 9. Think there was a blitz BP too. Remember, CW figs (& SL) are still on sale. Too bad those prices don't apply to tvc.
TF fans - dlx Darksteel, specialist Rachet and the armored wreckers were there as well.
Noho target -- CW CC Jet -didn't stash. There was one. Also spotted the newest deluxe wave TF here as well.
At a San Diego Target I bought:
2 CW Chewbaccas
2 CW Even Piels
1 CW robed Savage Opress
2 CW JarJar Binks (Jedi robes re-issues)
I'm looking for two of every size variation on the DOTM Soundwave figures and 1 CW Seripas figure.
For Seripas, I'd trade one of my Even Piels I think.
Target W. LA had CW shirtless Savage Opress on Saturday, I ended up buying him despite not originally wanting that version. The head sculpt is very good, the articulation works well with the shirtless sculpt's arms, and I like both blade accessories - even the missile-firing one. The eyes get great sithly paint and it comes out very well, the angry mouth works, the horns are pointy yet seem strong. I hope the heads will swap from shirtless to armored. This shirtless version poses extremely well though, lots of character, and I think the CW aesthetic works great with his physique's sculpt.
TRU Culver City on Saturday evening had been fairly raided but I was able to get Chaddymac his Ponda and Hoth Rebel.
Star Trader at Disneyland on the Monday night Annual Passholder special invitation event had 1 each of Ponda, Hoth Rebel, and Bastila Shan! Considering those figures are $11 and TRU had them for $10, I was surprised to see them there.
I'm still looking for Seripas and Savage Armored, but that's about it for now.
Bikerscout, glad to hear you finally got your Zam figure.
Being first in the door at TRU this morning at 8:59 am, I saw (and left) more Chewbacca, Even Piel, JarJar, etc. The Armored Savage Opress was gone, but I know there's an employee who collects and I bet that figure is his.
They also had (as did Target) the red Voyager repaint of Ironhide. It's nostalgic, but I don't need him. Ironhide already saw red- the red firetruck form of Sentinel Prime and that was the last thing he ever saw.
Reverse order of my day, starting with most recent:
Target Culver City had Revenge TIE Fighter Pilot and ARC Trooper Captain, among others. I stashed those 2, PM for details (it wasn't a great stash so don't be slow).
TRU Culver had CW ARF Trooper Skyboard and Cmdr Wolfe, and it looked like 1 more case of Ponda was above the racks.
Target W.LA had nothing of note.
Walmart had a bunch of their TF exclusive Dlx Optimus repaint with the Voyager's weapon - looked pretty sharp.
Target Burbank had a single TF deluxe Air Raid, I bought, it's a weird figure.
TRU Burbank had a few of the ARF Trooper Skyboard figures and the other figures from that wave.
At least I got some errands taken care of and met up with Chaddy for a trade.
No armored Savage or Seripas, but I clearly missed the latter at TRU Burbank as Spacejet Rex was there.
Target in Redlands had several Renegades figures, as well as a lone Steel Brigade (version 2, all I'm seeing, which makes me glad I bought the only version 1 I found). So, after getting nothing for about a year, it looks like Target finally moved all those damned Arctic Destros to a single peg and started putting other stuff out.
I doubt it will happen as they seem to share a SKU, but I'd love to see them clear out the Arctic Destros. He's not from anything, there aren't too many other Arctic-themed figures (the now-elusive Snow Job and the Cobra Ice Cutter are, I think, pretty much it), and he doesn't have $8 worth of customization potential, so that guy is never selling otherwise.
Do you think stores will stock well before Thurs. for thanksgiving & black fri. sales?? (guess it depends on peg & shelf space)
Bikerscout, I wouldn't be surprised if they used their doorbuster sales to blow out old cases of merchandise that has been lingering in warehouses.
Would be nice if some Human Alliance Barricades (the Decepticon police car) showed up - maybe even at the discount stores.
TRU will have the GIJoe mechs as "doorbusters" for $9.99. They're rather prominent in their ad, and I think it says something like "Our lowest price EVAR!!!11!!!"
I wonder how many parents will rush to get them, oblivious to the fact that Marshalls and Ross have had them at that price for ages.
Got lucky & found a bastila at La Cienega tru. Round 5pm too. Not sure if I'll use it for a gift or keep for myself yet. Definitely won't open. Target had T2 skynet edition bluray for $4.75. Couldn't resist, so I picked 1 up. Now I have T2 and T4 on bluray. T3's not worth havin on blu. The original is, probably grab it on a good sale. Speaking of good sales k-mart currently has games on clearances. Worth checking out.
Now where is that armored Savage?
chuxter -- the Sky striker would make a good doorbuster. They need to rerelease the Flagg at some point. Maybe not now during the recession though
