EPIC's system is just ridiculous.
EPIC's system is just ridiculous.
So I received an email stating I had been given eligibility to participate in the on sale. Which means dealing with Epic's queues....
Also I hope you get a ticket, best of luck.
I apparently did not win this right, as I received no such e-mail.
Chux, I believe that some who were not selected received an email about that.
JT, this year I'll be staying until Sunday and I just may hit that Talkback panel. This latest move by them was like 1 step forward, 5 steps back. And it excluded people from other countries. It's okay for them to do pre reg and general reg but not this???
I got the e-mail saying I could buy tickets.
I don't think it was to put me in another virtual wait room like last time.
It was to just buy the tickets.
However, I don't know if I'll even do that. I have a lot of expenses for my novel publishing project. It very much IS starting a business.
I guess the idea is the payments for badges from overseas buyers may not clear the bank in time for the show, overseas card transactions are very tricky and can be expensive.
Won't it be a little hypocritical (to the organizers) to see a room full of paid-badge attendees saying that "they hate Comic Con?" ;)
No, what they'd be saying is they hate how Comic Con is being run. Comic Con International is a non-profit organization with a paid board to run it, and these clowns can't even get job one correct.
I just successfully bought Thu-Fri-Sat badges.
Although I enjoy the free space at Sneak Preview Night, in almost 2 decades of going to Comic Con, I barely ever remember standing in line for exclusives.
Unless I need it for my dioramas... (the 7" Fett with Han in Carbonite does not interest me - I have these characters in 12" - much better if you ask me). I remember going to 4 e-tailers booths for Star Trek figure exclusives (Trouble w. Tribbles figures I think - TOS or DS9) and Mirror Mirror figures plus some exclusive Capt. Kirk.
Do I won any SW Comic Con exclusives? Hmmm. I can't recall. Not sure if I ever wanted any they offered.
That's excepting SideShow, but Aayla Secura was pre-ordered, so I didn't have to wait in line to pick her up. I think Figrin Bran was with me when we made a pit stop that took less than 2 minutes.
I don't think Transformers ever had Comic Con exclusives. I've never been to BotCon, so not sure I missed anything. Besides, I want very specific Transformers (like LC Cyclonus) which do not exist yet.
Meanwhile, I don't usually attend Comic Con on Sunday. I'm not a shopper, bargain hunting there. Only time I really went shopping at Comic Con was for my Hot Toys Terminator figures and I managed to broker good deals on them based on the quantity I wanted since I had not previously collected those when they were first offered.
Finally, Sunday's only panel I know I've enjoyed in the past is the Sons Of Anarchy one. It's at the very end of the day on Sunday in Hall H. I might get into that without a badge for Sunday. It's not going to break my heart if I don't but I'll enjoy it if I can.
Now, I still don't know that I'll get in to the panels I want on Th-Fri-Sat.
Walking Dead will be tough.
Breaking Bad might not even happen because the show's ending.
Falling Skies - could be possible.
Wilfred is possible. You get in if you bring dog biscuits anyway (but pornography and marijuana are actually preferred substitutes).
Maybe CW's Arrow will have a panel? (Green Arrow)
What if Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) is there?
In any case, I can make Star Wars Day events on Friday, and possibly meet up with other SSGrs.
I can look at the Hasbro / SideShow / Diamond stuff and I'll have lots of free time if I can't get into panels.
I have no plans to buy anything.
