    Does anyone out there know when the first droids were created and what they were?

    Droids always existed. So did blasters and lightsabers. No matter how far back you go in Star Wars history, they're always there.

    At least ten thousand years. Xim the Despot had war droids that predate even blasters, IIRC.

    i know, i was kidding. don't take it personally. it actually is an interesting question. i just like to really undershoot any question like that... it's just something that entertains me. if someone asks "how many people do you think they used to build the empire state building?" as a joke i would say something like, "at least 5..." cause it's true, they needed at least five people. probably more...
