I was in a Walmart in Indianapolis Saturday and they had their Trek figs priced at $4.97. It was wasn't a sale as far as I could tell, that was the retail price.

I'll need to pick up a low-priced Cadet McCoy and Cadet Chekov. They look like they could be in Club Outlander and not too recognizeable in popularly known Star Trek uniforms.

I think Barnes and undamaged Marcus, maybe masked John too, can also work for more members of Coruscant's population.

The figs and bridge seem to be keeping the pegs toasty-warm around here, but the ship seemed to sell well. How is it where you are?
McCoy: What do those super sensitive ears make of that, Mr. Spock?
Spock: Wood. Rubbing on some kind of leather.

The only figure I have yet to see anywhere in stores is Uhura. I've seen the 6" version once or twice but I'm not collecting those.

Everything else is either sitting or gone with Bones, and Checkov and the two playsets being the biggest warmers.

The transporter and bridge are readily available, as is the ship.

The figures of Kirk and especially Spock and Uhura have sold well. As has Pike and Sulu for that matter.

Cadet Chekov is the biggest pegwarmer. You can find some Scotty, and McCoy, as well as Nero.

The 6" has sold very well except for McCoy and Chekov. It's the Academy uniforms. However, I predict that Kirk will sell in his Academy Uniform alright. But the Kirk in all black will be by far the most popular.

A new wave of TOS figures showed up for pre-order on TRU's site the other night, including the first brand new character to TRU's waves.

Kang! They can easily make different TOS Klingon heads for the already made Korr body. Hopefully they have Captain Koloth in the works. I'm definatly getting Kang though.

Yup. I think I'm down for Kang, myself. Thanks for posting, Basker!

    Anytime!

Some recent bad news figure-wise, though. The Borg line with the build-an-alcove has been canceled.

It's not all that surprising, though, they were going nowhere with them. Every single time they were asked about the alcove's progress, they would respond that they were still trying to figure out how to split it up. I bet they still haven't figured it out.

That's too bad. So many of the Trek figures I wanted from DST (Kruuge, Malz, now the Borg sets) have been cancelled.

On the other hand, the M-113 Salt Vampire has been brought back.

I always create dioramas. I see it being pointless to collect action figures and not display them - and then display them paired up correctly with "a scene" of related figures.

To that end, I've been considering ordering a whole 2nd set of TOS crew members to help me spare figures to be paired with the M-113 creature and Kang. (I'd love it if the re-release of Sulu had a sword and I could pose him fighting Kang!)

Anyway, no decision as of yet, but NewForceComics lets you order 6 of the 7 TOS crew member repacks (just missing Chekov). I already have this crew, but I'm not sure if I have enough or 2nd editions of them would be useful.
