flood control w/ private messages

I'm sorry for asking, but why is there flood control when sending private messages. I've had to retype a couple messages because of the flood control with private messages.

Flood control meaning you can't post more than one message per minute? I believe it's on there basically because the PM system is a modified private forum, so it acts the same as the regular forums in that aspect. Also, it keeps people from abusing the PM by spamming.

You can send a PM to up to 5 people if they're on your Buddy List. There's a button in PM that says "pm to buddies" and gives you tick-boxes of your whole buddy list. Faster than sending one at a time.
