I have a ton of the Beige battle droids and I am looking for ideas on painting (color or other) suggestions on turning them Red include some EP 1 droids including an OOM-9

My suggestions:
1. Get red paint.
2. Get paintbrush.
3. Paint the droids.

You know, I did deserve that...but I should know better than post when I have heavily medicated (for a cold).
I meant to state that I also have a red rock from Red Rock, Arizona and want to also use that to apply a weathered, textured look to the droids.
Should I paint and while it dries grind some of the rock to dust and sprinkle on the droid while they dry?Collect 2 Collect (if you see someone damaging stuff kick them in the shorts!)

Why don't you just try one out and see the effects. Sorry I just can't picture the effects. Perhaps you could post a pic of what you actually intend to do then we can give you our opinions.

I'd take the British Croimson color, it looks more like the actual one
