R2-D2 with R3-T7 Legs?

I've seen a few R2s listed on ebay with the claim that it has a rare variation of R3-T7s legs. I have both R2 and R3 and they do have the same legs (as near as I can tell). But I have yet to see an R2 that does not have these legs! Does anyone know if there is one with different legs? Why?

Here is a picture with the comparison. Both pics are of R2-D2 (Coruscant Sentry). The one on the right is the "R3" legs.

So how commom is the one with the correct legs? I haven't seen any yet.

I'm not sure really. I found both right after they were released and never really looked after that.

When I found them it was a pretty even mix 50-50, or so at most stores.
