holo Death Star for 12" Dooku?

Just a thought I had this morning, pardon me if it's not original, it's new to me. Anyway, the idea just popped into my head...

When Dooku leaves the Geonosian war room, he takes with him the plans for the Death Star and holds up a small red hologram of it in the palm of his hand. I got to thinking, there's a small red translucent Death Star in the SW line already, it comes with the POTJ 3 3/4" R2-Q5 imperial astromech droid. While the back side of the station is incomplete because it's actually a holo of the DS2, if you face it front it looks complete AND like it's being projected from the bottom, and it's in close scale to the hologram Dooku had. You could even go the extra step by cutting off the stem, inverting it, and attaching it to a makeshift holo-emitter.

See, it's these little details that should be included with the figures. The 12" line should have these kinda things, but insted we get cheated (sorta) with no cloaks for the Jedi or binoculars for the Clone Commanders, no wrist articulation for the Super Battledroids, etc.

Accessory packs for 12" figures would be awsome. That would be a definite buy for me.

I always wanted hasbro to make accessory packs for 12" with unforms and such, since the start of the power of the force 12inch line back in 95.

IMO hasbro wouldn't. they make more money with different versions of 12inch figures. I mean hasbro would make a 12inch count dooku with a holo death version but not accessorie packs. cause its "mo money n mo money" . they do it for joes, why not for star wars???

but maybe they will, they just brang it back with ep2 figures. ep1 had accessoire packs too.

I completely agree with ya there MR, especially the part about how great my idea was. J/k, but the main reason I got into the modern 12" line is because of the accessories, and now they're all cheaped out and figs come with almost no accessories at all anymore. That drives me nuts.

I would like 12" accessory packs, but only GOOD accessories, not some of the junky ones like Hasbro released for the 12" GI Joe line 7 years ago where every pack included the same M-16, that stupid slide-on missile launcher, and 3 featureless missiles in green and/or orange.

Good quality accessory packs for the 12" line would be awesome, but what is the chance of Hasbro doing something like that for Star Wars?

You know I was thinking that the holo Death Star could come with 12" Poggle since he was the first to hold it in the film.

I wouldn't cut RQ-25's stand - it gives Dooku's hand something to grip. I don't display that stand, so I'll have to see how long it is. I just don't want to use glue on my Dooku's hand. He's such a nice figure!

I'm sorry I can't help you. But you want to make Kir Kanos out of a Royal Guard 12", don't you?

Me too!

However, I'm waiting because originally Maramit was going to do a 12" Royal Guard kit last summer. It may be on their backburner now, but I want to see what that looks like first. Then I really think that Max Steele looks like Kir Kanos, so that's the head that I plan to use (just add the scar from Vader's lightsaber with a hot glue gun and you got it!)

Anyway, my big custom years will be around 2007-2009 because by then the movies will be over, and I'll know whether the line is dying, or Hasbro is going to go strongly into the EU with it, or what. Star Wars took a nose dive only between 1999 and 2001. I'd say that this year it has been as strong as it's ever been - especially noting that Hasbro is confident as you can tell by it's ambitious product list for next year.

So, I'm still going to wait and see. There's plenty of time for a custom 12" Guardsman, and lots to buy and see in the SW universe before the time is right to pursue that particular project.
