I need to get that Johnny Cash CD. I wonder if Johnny's version of the Soundgarden tune "Rusty Cage" is on it. As well as the Nine Inch Nails Trent Reznor's "Hurt"? I read Trent won't sing it again because he gave it to Cash.

Those aren't on my CD, as it is an older collection of hits.

    1. I Walk The Line
    2. I Still Miss Someone
    3. The Legend Of John Henry's Hammer
    4. Don't Take Your Guns To Town
    5. In The Jailhouse Now
    6. Ring Of Fire
    7. Understand Your Man
    8. The Ballad Of Ira Hayes
    9. Folsom Prison Blues
    10. Daddy Sang Bass
    11. A Boy Named Sue
    12. Sunday Morning Coming Down
    13. Flesh And Blood
    14. Man In Black
    15. One Piece At A Time
    16. (Ghost) Riders In The Sky

The CD The Legend Of Johnny Cash would probably be a better choice if you want "Rusty Cage" & "Hurt".

    1. Cry! Cry! Cry!
    2. Hey Porter
    3. Folsom Prison Blues
    4. I Walk The Line
    5. Get Rhythem
    6. Big River
    7. Guess Things Happen That Way
    8. Ring Of Fire
    9. Jackson
    10. A Boy Named Sue (Live)
    11. Sunday Morning Coming Down
    12. Man In Black
    13. One Piece At A Time
    14. Highwayman
    15. The Wanderer
    16. Delia's Gone Cash
    17. Rusty Cage
    18. I've Been Everywhere
    19. Give My Love to Rose
    20. The Man Comes Around [Early Take]
    21. Hurt

Or it might be easier to just pick the songs you want from iTunes.

Thanks for the songlists MSP. Both CD's have great stuff on them. I grew up listening to Cash, as my father was really in to him. I recognize most of those tunes. I will probably buy the second one first though, but I'll end up getting both. I've got Itunes, but I only use it for one or two hit wonders. Something about having the whole thing with sleeve and artwork appeals to me, if the artist and most of the songs are good like these.

The Legend is the only single disc that contains stuff from Columbia and from American Recordings. And the only dedicated "Best of Johnny Cash on American" is only available in the five disc box set Unearthed, which makes no sense.

Too bad The Legend is missing "Highway Patrolman" and "Cocaine Blues."
    Tommy, close your eyes.

Even thought they are one of my favorite bands, I have very little of The Doors on cd.
The other day I saw The Best of The Doors 2 cd set at Walmart for less than $10, so I grabbed it. Everywhere else I see it, its usually $15-$20.

    Great stuff.

I have a 2-CD best of the Doors as well. "Break on Through" is probably my favorite Doors tune, but lots of great ones there.
