Thread: Weird Al

  1. #11
"Weird Al" is a legend in my book! He has out-lived pretty much all of the acts that he has lampooned. That being the case... Eminem's time may be up shortly! Check his track record... "Weird Al" does a parody and that artist soon disappears into obscurity. No wonder Prince didn't want "Weird Al" to do a parody of one of his songs! It would have just help him disappear FASTER than he did on his own merits!

    According to weirdal.com
    NEW ALBUM!!!
After nearly four years, the new album by "Weird Al" Yankovic is finally slated for release. It's called "Poodle Hat," and it will be in stores on May 20th.
Poodle Hat, eh? Okay... weird even for Weird Al.
"May the 4th be with you?" "Why yes, thank you for asking."

    Question

I have recently thought that "Poodle Hat" is an anagram of some other, weirder phrase. Like:

    The DA Pool
    Plooth Ade
    Hoot Laped
    Hate Plodo
    Death Pool
    Hood Plate
    The Poo Lad
    Dole Hot Ap
    Toad Pole H
    Oh Tadpole
    Hold A Poet
    Hated Loop
    Pale Dooth
    Heat D Pool
    Deal PH Too

    Others?

I'm wondering if any of the people on the subway have anything to do with previous songs. For instance the Boy scout could represent "Nature Trail to Hell". Just a thought.

I doubt he will have a song about "Attack of the Clones" mainly because when he was asked about doing another SW song he said he likes to keep them 16 years apart. It was 16 years between Empire and Phantom, correct?

    1) His album "Polka Party" had several "unknown" people on the cover, too. Hopefully this new one won't fade into obscurity like PP did. Al says that album was one of the first times people said "well, he was popular for a while but no longer" about him.
    2) Some key clues with the album image:
Al's going to work on a New York subway (maybe John Rocker's racist comments?)
"Boy Scout" is wearing a Webelos hat (Cub Scout level)
    Jay is in the background
Other people (2 construction workers, 2 in African dress, a lunch lady, man with sleeping bag, "legs" lady staring at Al's newspaper)
Subway car is clean and graffitti-free
    Hmm...
    3) ESB in 1980.
    TPM in 1999.
    1999 - 1980 = 19.
    However... ROJ in 1983.
    TPM in 1999.
    1999 - 1983 = 16.
    1999 + 16 = 2015.
Long time to wait for a SW parody. I hope not.
    4) Other anagrams:
    Al The Doop
    Heat Plood
    Taped Hool
    Hate D Polo
