I noticed in the scene where Butch in taking a taxi, the background outside the window is in balck and white. I wonder why?

i don't recall it being black and white, but i think tarantino was going for the obvious look that the car was on a stage with a projected background, like cheap movies and TV shows used to do.

i figured it was a tribute type thing to old movies or what not. also i agree with what derek said, maybe he did it for both reasons

I think derek said it right. I think that Tarantino did the scene that way on purpose.
