Won't happen. Though it was rumored to be talked about a while ago. The current plan is possible Michael/Pinhead movie, "Helloween."
    Squashing the 'Halloween' Remake Rumor

Moviehole put a the major smackdown today on the news posted by Creature-Corner last week about a possible Halloween remake, "The last week or so there's been a god awful rumour floating about that Dimension are preparing to remake the first Halloween, in turn starting the series from scratch re-introducing [not to mention re-casting] the characters of Dr Loomis, Laurie Strode and of course, Michael Myers. Moviehole heard from one of the studio's decision makers today who says that there's no such plan. "There are no plans to remake Halloween that rumour was incorrect," he tells. Instead, the studio is pushing forward with the latest "Halloween" instalment, possibly and you can vote on the idea over at Halloweenmovies.com. Michael vs. Pinhead. Michael won't be back on screen for quite a while we're told, but when he does, it?ll be in the form of some sort of sequel not a remake."

Yeah, these remake ideas are getting a bit stale. Now and again, a remake is fun, but over and over again...
I drew the line when I heard The Hills Have Eyes is being remade. No more, I say! As for the remake of Halloween, that's probably not going to be happening according to the studio...but you never know.

The only thing worse than a Halloween remake would be a movie with Myers and Pinhead.

Still, neither idea is worse than Halloween 6.

Moustapha Akkad, aka the Halloween Franchise milker officially stated at last weekend's "Return to Haddonfield" convention that Michael vs. Pinhead is dead. He appearantly doesn't want to take Michael in that direction. Which is sort of idiotic, from a man who's only purpose in life is to pump out sequel after sequel of the same thing.

    Thank goodness.

Halloween doesn't work for me without Dr. Loomis. H20 and Resurrection weren't the worst, but they're still kinda blahhhhh.

What they should have done was cut the Man in Black from part 5 and let it wrap up in those 4 movies. 1, 2, 4, and (somewhat) 5 are all pretty cool.

1 and 4 are my favorites.

What they are going to make, will be worse. Since Akkad wants to get Jamie Lee back in the series. Regardless of the fact that she was supposed to have finally died in the last one. This is from Dark Horizons. And I disagree with his idea of negative reaction. The poll up until it closed was flip flopping every day 60% for or against. And it closed pretty much even for to make "Helloween" or "Halloween 9".
The teaming of Pinhead against Michael Myers might be off it seems according to this fresh off the press report from 'mikeymoves': "I was at the 25th anniversary Halloween convention and Moustapha Akkad (the producer of the "Halloween" movie franchise) himself has officially shot down 'Helloween'. He said that the fans overwhelming negative reaction and logistical reasons are why. In regards to "Halloween 9" he also mentioned the possibility of Danielle Harris making a cameo as well as Dick Warlock (Michael Myers from halloween 2). He also said he will NOT revisit the Thorn plot. Joe Wolf of Compass international said Jamie Lee Curtis might cameo in H9 as well."

What the hell are they going to do with JLC in the next one ? Yeah, sounds crappy to me, too, Binks.

Danielle Harris, now that's the girl they should get . . . she's a total hottie, too. Did you see her in Urban Legend?

Wait, they killed her character in that goofy Halloween 6 so will she cameo as Jamie or as a different character ?

    Michael Bay's remake of HALLOWEEN?

    CINESCAPE Online News
    Dateline: Wednesday, November 5, 2003

As announced earlier this week, Michael Bay's production company Platinum Dunes struck a deal with Dimension Films to develop and produce films for that studio. According to the trade stories, the first slate of Platinum projects being developed will be priced at about $15 million dollars each, and that the production firm is already considering several of Dimension's properties.

Which leads us to what one of our industry insiders had to tell us. Our source is well-known and has scooped us news items that we broke first before we saw them appear in the trades.

According to this source, one of the franchises that has been mentioned as a possible project for Platinum Dunes is a remake of John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN. Yes, really. "Remake" as in the latest THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, which was Platinum's, and the remake of THE AMITYVILLE HORROR that the company has going on over at MGM right now.

Now before going any further, let us say that our source wasn't sure if Bay or anyone from Platinum is taking this idea seriously, or even if they've been presented the notion of remaking HALLOWEEN for a 21st century audience. All that our source knows for certain is that there has been a mention within Dimension that this could be a possible endeavor for Platinum to take on -- day-dreaming, one might say. Maybe it won't get farther than the gleam-in-the-exec's-eye phase; maybe Bay or one of the other Platinum owners will nix the idea, or maybe Platinum will commit to another Dimension project before considering a HALLOWEEN remake.

Nevertheless, someone has said it within the walls of Dimension Films. Would it have the blessing of Moustapha Akkad, the rights holder to the HALLOWEEN franchise? The last anyone heard was that plans were being drawn up for a HALLOWEEN 9. The official HALLOWEEN website makes no mention of any remake at all of the original film.

After the box office success of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, would Platinum Dunes contemplate taking on a new HALLOWEEN? The idea itself screams controversy, and fans of Michael Myers number greater than those of Leatherface...but it hasn't stopped Hollywood before.
