And here's a link to a review of the first two discs in the set. They plan to update over time with more. But this is all they have ready at the moment. It sounds like a real winner. And with a SRP below $100, it sould be easy to find it in most stores for around $70.00 or so on release date.

i AM STOKED ABOUT THIS. I've been dreaming about the extra 1/2 hour of footage in Alien 3. Seeing the Alien jump all over everyone when the fire breaks out, and then getting trapped into the blast bunker, only to have Golic free it. I hope that stuff is in there.
After 11 months The BEST/WORST figure poll is still going strong.

  5. #5
That stuff will be in there, Jaff. The original version of Alien3 had a Super-Facehugger, which was twice the normal size and had spikes along its back, and was able to impregnate both Ripley AND an Oxen (yes, originally the Alien came from an ox and not a dog). And it also addresses Golic's fate -- the fire trick works, but then Golic frees the Alien and it kills him as payment for services rendered. In the theatrical release, Golic is still strapped to the bed as the alien kills Clemens and runs off, and then we never saw Golic again.

Jar Jar, are you sure about those aspect ratios? Aliens and Alien3 were both 1.85:1, not 2.35:1... at least on my Alien Legacy DVD set.

  6. #6
I'm sure they just messed up in the specs lists. After all, there are errors and missing info on the actual press release. So they just filled in what they knew from checking the set out. I'm sure that the aspect ratios will be OAR on each movie.

    Great.

I can't wait for in 3 years they'll release another must have DVD set.

This is the only thing I hate about DVDs.

I dread to think what sort of ridiculous crap the Star Wars saga will put us through when it's on DVD.

This is the main reason I'll be buying this set. I was so bummed that Cameron didn't do a commentary on the last release. Now I'm even more pumped that we're getting the actors to join in. BONUS!!!!

Just a heads up that the individual movies will be available on January 3rd for 26.96 each. But the Quadrilogy is the only way to get the 9th disc. Also, Suncoast and Media Play both seem to have them up for pre-order at the stores for $69.99. And Costco's website has the set for $64.99 if you're a member. I haven't confirmed the Suncoast/Media Play price myself, I'll know tommorow for sure.
