Yoda variations: What about the belt?

I think most of us know that Yoda has one of the highest number of variations of the vintage line. Eye, skin, cane, and snake color a long with severely changes to the card drive the combination up. My question is about the belt. As the other stuff changed did the belt?

The reason I ask is because of a resent eBay purchase. This guy claimed everything in the lot was 100% original, but a repo Paploo staff and a funny looking AT-AT driver gun tell me the guy's a liar or an idiot. Any way this lot had two Yoda belts with some subtle differences. One belt is thinner, the has a bigger clasp that sticks up when closed and has silver paint on the back of the knife like thing. The other is thicker, the clasp is smaller and lies flat when closed, and has a metallic green luster to it. The green luster alone has me suspicious of it. But the fact that I can find two different clasp styles and thickness in belts that I already own had muddy the issue for me. To be clear only the new thick belt has the green luster.

Key: The belts on the left side are the thin ones
The right side are the thick ones.
The two on the top are the new ones. And if you look at the top right belt you can see some of the green luster I'm talking about.

Nobody knows anything about this? Why is it that I always ask the questions nobody has answers to? Any way I've done a bit more digging and studied the pictures 12Back.com has on their site of two variations (orange and brown snakes) of Yoda. I can't decide whether I'm seeing what I want to see or if there really is a difference between the belts. I'd post the pictures, but I'm not sure if that's kosher or not.

If it's the clasp you're curious about, with many collectors being carded ones, they might never have even SEEN the clasp, since it's behind the figure. That could be one reason there have been few responses (read: none). Also, this Vintage section has spurts of interest, so this might be a down time. Thirdly, I'm not a variations hunter, so I seldom notice those "errors." Sorry to not be of more help, LS.

Well there are alot or Yoda things out supposedly out there that most have not seen. I am a huge variation collector when it comes to the vintage line and i have yet to see a green snake yoda. So take that for what its worth.

Well here's shot of the belts for a brown and orange snaked Yoda. The top one is a brown snake and has I think is the thicker belt. The orange one has a thinner belt. So any thoughts?
To clarify an early point only the thick belt have what I'm calling the small claps and only the thin belt have the large claps.

Hello!

There are in fact at least four minor variations of vintage Yoda belts! (Not including the Mexican Lili Ledy or Argentinian TopToys versions either!)

The 'knife like thing' on the belt is actually a representation of Luke's flashlight that Yoda acquires (after a quick fight for it with R2) in ESB!

I sold my LL and TT variants to concentrate on collecting the versions available to Europe! =

i recently got another yoda, and mine has the exact same "green luster" to it that I can see reflected under light. I'm not sure what that means, but at least it seems it might just be a variation.

That's exactly where I'm with this, just not sure what it means. If it were a repro you'd think more people would have noticed this and be talking about it. If it were a variation again you'd think (a lest I'd think) people would be talking about it. The metallic green luster is very obvious when you look at the belt in a good light source. But it's good to know I'm not the only one who has this type of belt. Since that's the I'm leaning more towards the variation side. Who know maybe it's a rare variations.:lipsrseal

Here are a couple of pics i took of my yodas. The right one has the greenish luster, although it didn't show up in my pic because of the lighting. The left one is thinner, and has no notch like pattern on the strap.
