These aren't great pics, but they should suffice. The trick with Brawl is to make sure his ab piece rotates a full 90 degrees so the arm joint is fully extended. Jiggle it to get it into the right position to rotate that way. The trick with Blast Off is to flip his arms out so that they form a foot. Otherwise, it's just folding in the wings to stabilize the heel.

Let me know if you have any Q's. I'm trying to use dropbox as a pic host. Hopefully this works. I've pics of the individual limbs and the full combiner.

pictures came out great. Thanks for the help. I'll try it Monday. I think I did have Brawl correct, it just looked weird because his shoulder stuck out so far.

I haven't seen anything of that yet, but it's certainly something I'd be interested in seeing.

Thanks for the advice. Haven't had to worry about it lately as I am broke.

I hear ya, right now there's nothing out there that's not undersized and overpriced and just disappointing, especially if you're not into TF Prime or Fall of Cybertron.

I saw it on TFW2005. The fan modes thread, I believe. I passed on GDO Laserbeak unfortunately.

Picked up 2 more Kreo micro changers today - Springer and Inferno, one of which was free thanks to a recent coupon in the Sunday paper. And I used the rest of my $15 TRU rewards on FOC Soundwave.

My review of the SDCC set has a ton of super huge pics of the alt limb configurations both combined and on their own, as closely matched to the Hasbro ones as possible (or in the case of Blast Off, as made sense since Hasbro willfully leaves out the toes):

Excellent advice, and not bad pics. Brawl's ab piece is a true pain in the butt to get working, you have to pull and push at the same time, and usually that results in the lower waist slipping away from the joint. I would suggest flipping Brawl-as-arm's thrusters down to close off the gap below the shoulder though.

I'm surprised, GDO Laserbeak hasn't been too horribly rare around here, and is fairly decent.

As for the link, I'm not seeing it, the only one I found is as a chest for Energon Bruticus Maximus.

    Ah. Nice tip.

Thanks guys! I definitely prefer blastoff as a leg. I wasn't happy with how clumpy his lower arm felt. I saw some alternative transformations that looked nice, but were flimsy.

My replacement FOC Starscream arrived, and the knee works so I'm content. Plus I'll be getting a few more bucks back since I paid more from TRU than I did from Amazon. For a second, it felt like the knee wasn't moving but that turned out to be a piece of flash, not a frozen joint - for that tiny moment though I felt like it was doom again.

Sure thing. I put a lot of research and thought into those parts after seeing the alt limbs at Comic-Con, both in person and in the slide.

Sure thing. I hear ya on the Blast Off as Leg thing, the long gangly arm look really doesn't work well and even if Onslaught had been as big as he should have been that arm would still be a bummer. I'm not miserable with the fan-mode transformation I did with Blast Off as an arm, but only because in the game he's got no hand half the time since he's shooting fire out his wrist.

I've seen another fan-mode arm transformation for Blast Off that I liked the looks of, but not only did it not turn out to be notably shorter than the existing mode, it was held together with just the pin in the fist halves so it was horribly flimsy and stressed parts which in my world is a no.

Now that I look at the pictures I did of my fan version though, I'm wondering if I should try using Blast Off's arms as pincers or something... this works better than I thought, there's a usable fist hole and flame holes flat spot, check it out:
    So here's the new fist:

    http://tfviews.com/Bruticus/blastoff-alt/IMAG0516.jpg
    http://tfviews.com/Bruticus/blastoff-alt/IMAG0517.jpg
it's just the bot forearms rotated around so that the fins look like a thumb and they can get as close together as possible, nothing holds it together, but friction keeps it tightly next to each other to look ok, even though there is a gap from some angles.

And here's the new flamethrower mode:
    http://tfviews.com/Bruticus/blastoff-alt/IMAG0518.jpg
    http://tfviews.com/Bruticus/blastoff-alt/IMAG0519.jpg
here the forearms are rotated the opposite way so that they cover in the empty space of my previous version, and the 5mm pegholes face forward to suggest the flamethrower.

And here my fan mode Blast Off arm is with my fan mode arm transformation for Vortex as well:
    http://tfviews.com/Bruticus/blastoff-alt/IMAG0520.jpg
impressively, they end up about the same shorter length, and now you can bring Vortex's spinning shoulder shield to bear while also sporting the flamethrower mode (official transformation for Vortex has the vehicle outriggers blocking the rotors from spinning).

It looks like we'll be getting FOC Voyager Springer and Astrotrain. Not to mention an MP Acid Storm which will be a pass for me. 3 MP seekers is enough for me.

  9. #5119
The art for FOC Springer looks great, I hope they can deliver on that:
    http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-...otrain-176776/
I don't expect it though, the unused game design seems to have the wheels fold flat where the toy couldn't possibly afford to do such a thing. Still, if it follows that as a guideline it could be pretty nice even with wheels as extra thrusters.

No art yet for FOC Astrotrain, but anything's got to be better than the awful Classics version.

MP Acid Storm is a lame idea IMO.

So the new deco for Bruticus will be an Autobot Mold? That doesn't make sense to me...
