Why is TRU selling Silver Clones at retail?

....because my Killeen, TX. TRU replaced the entire SW isle with Silver Clone Troopers for $4.99. There must have been 50 of them. I find it ironic because it says on the back of the card "Not for retail sale. Promotional use only." I picked up 2. Hope they don't run out before the sale!

They probably did this because they didn't have enough new Saga figures to make it possible to get one free for purchasing $20 worth of SW toys (I think that was the deal for R2) and this was the only thing they could do to get rid of them. This could actually lend some backing to the possibility that Hasbro is actually not meeting orders vs TRU just not bothering to keep up their stock of SW merchandise.

Yes, i went to tru yesterday to see if they were stocking up for the promo, and there wasn't much.. i bought 2 boba fett unleashed and a yoda and asked the manager if they were going to do the promo , he said Yes. I told him that hard to find stuff wasn't going to make to the weekend. we'll see what happens.

They're selling the silver cloneys? Wasn't the whole deal with that one is that they're a promo item? If they got off their As and stocked some decent stuff then maybe they'd have the sales to warrant a promo like this one.

....over at Rebelscum a couple other posters said their TRU was selling them also. Hey, I got 3 for the $15 I was gonna have to spend to get 'em!

If I were you, I woulda bought up as much as I could. Keep 1 in the package, open one to keep Silver, then open up a BUNCH more to repaint as the White Clones (some green too

) for Army Building.
