Thread: H.R. Giger

    H.R. Giger

Man, I have always thought his work was cool and very strange. I mean some of his work is so warped I have a hard time looking at it. I would like to own a piece of his work and now I can. I believe he came up with the Alien artwork for Alien the movie. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Anyways here's a pic of a diorama from McFarlane.

He's awesome. I always liked what I saw of his work, but didn't realize how sexually explicit some of his work could be, until I bought a book about him. He does have a unique, dark and moody atmosphere to his work.

And yes, he did design the Alien and Species creatures, but hated the movies with a passion.

You hated Alien and Aliens? I can understand the one's after, but not the 1st 2.

Giger's work gets really sexual and he uses certain boby parts that surprised me when I saw them for 1st time. He also uses babies, strange stuff indeed.

I thought this was cancelled, problems between Giger and Mc F.

Anyway, yeah I'm a fan, my wife is a huge fan, she has a lot of books and calendars with his work. I bought a cold cast 3D wall hanging with his Alien design from Spencer Gifts one year for Christmas...she loved it! Unfortunatly the thing is HUGE!!!

I think he means Giger hated the films. I remember hearing that somewhere as well.

Was it the cross that came out last year or so? I think it was like $800 bucks, probably not because Spencer's doesn't carry Big $ items.

    Check out his website:

The table and chairs is very cool albeit a bit creepy. He does some amazing art but I don't know if I'd sleep at night with it hanging on the wall.

No, it's a side profile of the alien from "Alien" in a rectangle shaped border. It's about 3 feet wide by 4 1/2 tall and probably 1 1/2 feet deep.

It wasn't too high $$$, but it was over a hundred...on sale. It was a limited edition cold cast from another artist..."inspired" by Giger.

No way I could afford one of his original pieces.

Yeah, I'll have to break out the digital camera, so it won't be until tomorrow.
