    Zombi 2 two-disc 25th Anniversary set

    Well worth the 14.99 price.

I haven't finished the special features yet but I was getting a bit salty over the makeup guy who kept putting down the blue aspect of Dawn's zombies.

Listen dude, your makeup might have been better but Dawn's characters, storyline, acting, etc. etc. etc. blow your film out of the water in the long run.

And I love how the writers sit there and explain what hacks they really are. "Oh yeah, call me up and I'll write you a horror flick, a porno, whatever you want based on a concept poster."

Still, I love Zombi 2 for what it is and this DVD rocks !

Now if only Jaymz BF would come back so I can find out if he picked this up.

I agree Caesar, this is a cool set and well worth the price.

I still don't understand why they released 2 different discs of the same film, one single disc and then the 25th 2-disc Anniversary Edition. I would understand if the single disc was a bare-bones release but it actually contains extras that aren't present on the 2-disc set. I was planning on buying both versions because they were so cheap but decided to go with just the Anniversary Edition.

I also agree with your points about the lack of plot and character development in Zombie, something thats missing from alot of Fulci's films IMO. Dawn is a far superior piece of work and you could make the arguement that Zombie/Zombi 2 was made to capitalize off the success of Romero's classic.

Still you've gotta give the film some points for originality. Where else are you gonna see an underwater showdown between a shark and a zombie.

Absolutely Hellboy, the underwater sequence is fantastic ! Gone fishin', that corpse was.

Hey, isn't that other set released by Blue Undeground ? (can't recall the company's name for certain and I'm too lazy to search online - but I think they also did my Dead & Buried DVD)

You know, I will never put down Zombi 2 (or zombie dua as the Italians pronounce it ) with a reference to Dawn - I only lash out when I'm backed into a corner by someone else praising Zombie at Dawn's expense.

Yeah Caesar you're correct. The single disc version of Zombie is by Blue Underground the same company that put out Dead & Buried, which BTW is a movie I've been meaning to pick up for some time now. Isn't that disc(s) a limited edition set?

I have yet to watch the special features on my Zombi 2 set and it will most likely be awhile because I'm hip deep in my Dawn Ultimate Edition at the moment.

Just curious Caesar, have you ever seen Fulci's "The Beyond?" You probably have since it has zombies in it too but figured I'd recommend it just in case you hadn't.

No shet? Wow I only saw and bought the single. Is it worth buying the 2 pack if you already have the single?

    Re: Zombi 2 two-disc 25th Anniversary set

Ah you're confusing "Zombi 2" with "Dawn of the Dead" my friend.

"Zombi 2" or "Zombie" as it was refered to here in the states is an Italian horror film by Lucio Fulci. It was released shortly after "Dawn of the Dead" which was called "Zombi" internationally and in an attempt to capitalize on the popularity of "Dawn of the Dead/Zombi" the producers of "Zombie" attempted to call it an outright sequel to Dawn by refering to it as "Zombi 2." In actuality the film has absolutely nothing to do with George A. Romero's Dead Trilogy (Night, Dawn and Day of the Dead). Hope that made sense.

The new "Dawn of the Dead" 4-disc Ultimate Edition did just come out on Tuesday but the "Zombi 2" 2-disc set came out in July. Both are excellent horror films and great sets. Here is a link to that movie so you can compare the 2.

Man I wasn't sure what you guys meant but just assumed Zombie was dawn of the dead for some reason. Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. BTW is the Dawn 4 pack worth it?

I hope the 2004 dawn DVD is good. I read the unedited version will be available. Oct 27th release.
