OT vehicles

Firstly I'm wondering - is the new Millenium Falcon worth getting to replace my old 1995 one? If I buy the new one I'll probably give my old one to the kid down the road as I'm not a completist nor do I have the room even if I was. I love the idea of the light up engines and that alone is almost enough to convince me. But is the paint job on the actual vehicle the same as is depicted on the box (which I like)?

Secondly - what OT vehicle do you want next? what OT vehicle do you think Hasbro are likely to make next? Are we ever going to get large vehicle/playsets (Sail Barge/Tantive IV perhaps) again given the expected oversaturation of ROTS toys and subsequent lull?

Yes Its Worth The Cost The Sounds Are Great And They Did Make A Few Changes. The Landing Gear They Fixed And The Sounds Last A Bit Longer And The Engine Lights Are Awsome.

I don't have the OTC Millenium Falcon, yet, but I agree the light-up engines are enough of a feature that just might push me over the edge to purchase.

I'd like to see the Cloud Car given the OTC treatment. We While a new sculpt would be stellar I don't see it happening. Hasbro is likely to update the paint job from the vintage ship and slap it in a package.

I would wet myself over a Sail Barge vehicle / playset but realistically I give this one a big fat chance. It would have to be monstrous in size in order to fit Jabba and all his goonies and let's face it, large vehicles, well most vehicles for that matter don't sell well at retail. In addition, they take up a lot of shelf space (downside for retailers), are quite expensive to tool and produce (downside for Hasbro) and the price would be quite high (downside for my wallet).

Most likely not. The Queens Starship was huge and the price tag did not go over well with the public, as they were clearanced out of most stores.

But I think that the primary problem with that specific example is that it was a vehicle from a movie that sucked. Would you buy a toy from a movie that blows if you were just a regular Joe-moviegoer?

However, put a few Original Trilogy vehicles out there, like the Star Destroyer, and watch them fly off the shelves.

If the Sandcrawler has a good run in the public, it might lead to others getting made eventually. So go buy one!!!!

The Cloud Car is the best bet, but like JabbaGlob said, it'll likely be a repaint of the vintage one. I have two of those, but I'd buy a couple of new ones. I have the vintage Sandcrawler too but couldn't pass up the new repaint. What's left, Mini-rigs?

I think the closest thing we'll get to OT playsets are the deluxe/basic figure combo sets like Bacta Luke/FX-7 and Hoth Luke/Wampa & ice column. Both make cool scenes when assembled though.

I also never had the original cloud car. Was it lacking in accuracy? Thats the impression I get from Jabbaglob and Ji'dai.

I expect the Cloud car will be the next vehicle they make anticipated by the cloud car pilot.

Vehicles yet to be made - Rebel transport, Tantive IV, Escort frigate, 2 types of Mon Calamari cruiser, Star destroyer, Executor, Sail Barge, Lars landspeeder, Mos Eisley landspeeder

From the above I can live without all but the Sail barge, Rebel transport and perhaps Tantive IV. Whatever about these three the others are certainly not feasible or likely. They'd either have to be scaled down to a ridiculous degree (we can at least pretend Tantive IV is as small as the rebel transport and be satisfied in our minds) or they simply don't have sufficient screen exposure to warrant toys being made (in Hasbro's eyes), or they don't look interesting enough to appeal as widely as Hasbro would like.

However for those vehicles that we will never see made I would just love for them to be representable in interior playsets and dioramas. What do we have to do to get a star destroyer bridge made? Proper scale cockpits for the Falcon, AT-AT and AT-ST? How often have suggestions like these been made in the Dear Hasbro section?

As to the OTC Falcon, if I see it in the shop I think I might buy it. Is it true that the rear lid has been redone in order to better fit? Its not exactly airtight on my old one and neither is the cockpit canopy.

Well we'd need a deck surface with space for the cannon and a number of figures with, preferably, enough vertical space beneath the sails for them to stand upright and enough flat space for luke to battle across. The desert Skiff lets us down on this count. Its just too small to be able to imagine Luke swinging his lightsaber without also cutting down Chewbacca and Han.

And of course we'd want an interior that can fit Jabba on his platform and a good quantity of aliens and guards. I would have no problem with them using the full length and width of the vehicle for just this. We don't really need all those other sections shown in the essential guide to vehicles and vessels - kitchen, private dorm room, engine room etc.

I think they should have upped the repacks and repaints of vehicles for the OTC. Maybe they'll do some of these in the future?
