"Video Games Live

Giving hard-core video-gamers a reason to go to the concert hall, Clear Channel Music Group has announced a tour featuring music from some of the most popular video games. Called "Video Games Live", the tour will be performed by some of the top orchestras, passing up Webern and Shostakovich in favor of Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog.
The tour is being produced by lauded video game composers Tommy Tellarico and Jack Wall - who have composed music for some of the most popular video games around - and booked by William Morris Agency.
"You don't have to be into video games to experience the music, intensity and excitement that this event will offer," WMA's Marc Geiger said. "I believe Video Games Live will impact entertainment in the same way that Lollapalooza radically changed the landscape of alternative music and the concert event experience."
The concert will include music from video game franchises such as Mario, Zelda, Metal Gear, Myst, Warcraft, Final Fantasy, Castlevania, Halo and many others. The concerts will also contain enough eye-candy for doubtful critics, with video footage, lasers, light shows and live actors.
In addition, gamers will be selected from the audience to compete and play a video game on stage. The competition will be shown on a giant screen while the orchestra follows the action in real time.
Video Games Live will launch at the Hollywood Bowl on July 6th. Other shows are expected to take place at Red Rocks outside Denver, Chastain Park in Atlanta and Tweeter Center in Boston."
Sounds like it'd be a fun time!
