    I'm bowing my head now.
Damn, 10+ years of Alzheimers and now Pheumonia.
    RIP, man.
I grew up on re-runs of Star Trek on Channel 44 outta Pittston/Avoca, Pennsylvania and his portrayal of Scotty is.....fantastic.
I turn 32 yrs old at 7:50PM today(born on a FRIDAY before prime-time, haha) and this just makes me feel a little bit older, now.
Poor Scotty....I hope his family makes it through OK. What a sad day...

    Re: RIP Scotty

Definitely a sad day. My heart goes out to his family. It was a great actor and it was nice to see him replay his role of Scotty on Star Trek the next generation. He was one of my favorite character from the original star trek next to spoke. Sad day.

I'm going to punch out a Klingon in his honour, RIP Mr.Scott
Something about him reminds me of my older brother, Rex.

    Re: RIP Scotty

Is he the first to die from TOS or is DeForest Kelly still around?

De Kelley died about 6 years ago, so Doohan is the 2nd main Trek TOS castmember to pass on.

I was so sad to see James Doohan's death notice on this morning. The guy was a real talent, he was a master of accents and vocal sounds, he came up with the sound of the Klingon language for Star Trek. He was also a WW2 vet, and father to 7 children.
