    Those Good Ole' Cartoons...

A friend an I were sitting around this evening -- talking about ROTS -- of Course -- and we somehow started talking about old Cartoons.
    To name a few --

    The Banana Splits
    Atom Ant
Yogi Bear and Friends -- with the flying ARK.
    Guliver's Travels (Adventures)
    The Land of the Lost
    Electro Woman and Dina Girl
The adventures of Huck Finn (curse of the tomb) episode
    and countless others.

What were some of your favorites?

    AND --

Is there a place that we can get these on DVD somewhere ??

These were live action, but they were always put on right around the same time as cartoons everyday. I'd throw in:

    Sigmund and the Sea Monsters
    HR Puffnstuff
the show with the talking hats
Lost Saucer (Ruth Buzzi and Jim Neighbors as androids with a white chick, a black kid, and a big A dog)
another show with Chuck McCann and either Tim Conway or Bob Denver as two guys who accidentally get launched into space on a rocket...with hilarious results

pretty much all those Sid and Marty Kroft shows were sweet

I don't have it with me right now, but I have a link to a website that is a virtual encyclopedia of 80s cartoons.

In the meantime, do any of you have the Boomerang channel? It is part of the Cartoon Network. All they do is play old cartoons and no commercials. They have Loony Toons, Popeye, Tom & Jerry, as well as a bunch of those old Hanna Barberra creations (Hair Bear, Scooby-Doo, smurfs, Yogi Bear, etc.). They do show Superfriends. That was one of my favorites when I was a kid, but seeing it now...well it's cheesy. For a show to have that many super heros and super villians, there is practically no violence at all.
Yo momma. That's right, I said "yo momma".

There is a site out there that breaks down TV into decades with live-action, cartoons, and commercials.

Big Cartoon Database is not it, but it's a cool site nonetheless.

I watched Heckle & Jeckle, Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, Woody Woodpecker, Chilly Willy, Space Ghost, Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, Superfriends, GI Joe, Transformers, Smurfs, Popeye, Animaniacs, Star Wars DROIDS & EWOKS, Batman TAS, Gargoyles, Voltron, Robotech, MOTU, MASK...

The only cartoons I can stand to watch now are Looney Toons, Tom & Jerry, classic Disney, Scooby Doo, Futurama, Simpsons, and Family Guy.

Holiday specials were a yearly tradition with Garfield's Halloweeen Adventure, It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Frosty the Snowman.

I like some of Nickelodeon's stuff too - Rugrats, Rocket Power, Wild Thornberrys, and Spongebob Squarepants.
