I just saw on CNN that Spike paid about $60 million to have the rights to show the movies over the next 6 years. They outbid the Sci-Fi channel, TBS, TNT, and Fox. They said they'll be showing ROTS in 2008.

Up, up, and OKAAAAY!!!
So there may actually be something on Spike worth watching? This is big news indeed.
Spike TV is "TV for Men" in the same way Lifetime is "TV for Women." I've never watched Spike TV, and Mrs Chuxter would rather eat cat poop than watch Lifetime.
Tommy, close your eyes.
Good news for sure. Hopefully they don't wear them out like they do the four Chuck Norris movies they have the rights to. If it weren't for "mXe" and UFC bouts, I'd totally block Spike. Pretty garbagey.
It's a blacked-out blur but I'm pretty sure it ruled.
What's with all the KH avatars?
Anyway, I can't wait to see all the trashy SW commercials they come up with. The only good thing on that channel is MXC but they rarely play that anymore.
It's our attempt to spawn a false KH army with the Interim KH (Chux) as our leader.Originally Posted by Mr. JabbaJohnL

I read that also. Even though the OT (especially ANH) has been shown numerous times all over years on cable, Spike said they expect higher rating due to things like marathons.
Plus, I wonder if this is a step for Spike to get rights for the tv series...

Yeah, I'm not feeling it here . . . I don't really care who gets the rights, not like I'll be watching.
Is HBO gonna get a crack at ROTS like they did with AOTC ?
i can't wait until they dub over the movies with the guys who voice "most eXtreme elimination challenge!"
