This is indeed sad news. He did quite a good part in ANH. It's sad to think that all of the younger cast members are getting up there in age too and we'll no doubts start having threads like this for Luke and Leia in a couple of decades.

I got the pleasure to meet him at CII. I got his autograph, but by that time he could berely sign his own name, and didn't speak much. 89 years is a respectable amount of years to live.
