Frozen Tundra Hockey Classic

I'm not sure how much press this got across the nation but today I went to the "Frozen Tundra Hockey Classic" aka the University of Wisconsin vs. The Ohio State University which was played outdoors at Lambeau Field in Green Bay Wisconsin. To be honest I don't know much of anything about hockey but it was a fun time. There was a feel at the stadium today that was different then a Packer game. Was it a good game? I can't really say on the fine details but UW won so I'm happy. One of the coolest parts was that the 3 Vince Lombardi trophy's were on display with the Stanley Cup, although I'm a 'football' guy I have to say hockey's trophy is much cooler!

Hopefully if there is another hockey game at Lambeau (which I think there will) the entire bowl will be used. Grandstands were on the south end thus the stadium was sold out w/ 41,000 vs. the 70,000 that are there for Packer games, and that the opponent will be a big name team or a closer team like Minnesota which would help to draw more fans.

All in all it was a great time and I'm glad I was able to go. I'm going to have to go to more hockey games in the future, in fact Green Bay is hosting the NCAA Midwest Regional come March (not at Lambeau but rather across the street indoors).

I heard a female hockey player in my technical writing class talk about how they (girl's hockey team, I assume) had bought tickets for this event some time ago.

Go to show support for our men's team, but I guess that didn't work out as expected considering the result.

I heard them talking about it on the radio before the days leading up to it but as usual when it comes to Rookie and Chuck Friedman, I tried to keep sleeping.

JimJam you should be going to Gamblers games more often, even if I am opposed to their use of that newer spur logo vs. the hand of cards.

There were plenty of "Buckeye" comments between myself and Dover. I've never been to a Gambler game although I'd love to go, I also think a St. Norbert College hockey game would be pretty cool as well.
